I need to rebuild my entire front end (rad support, etc.). Its still driving thank God but just needs a cosmetic fix, not to mention my hood and the latch dont line up, not safe. When i get the money i'm goin to fix it right just as you are. thanks for being a great inspiration.

i was actually looking at your adapter brackets. i'm holding off on buying anymore parts though until i know how much bodywork/paint is going to cost me. i'll let you know.carmo wrote:Wow!!!! Talk about going the extra mile. With these, the whole swap is direct bolt on.
Good job thus far, and I'm looking forward to motor swap time
thanks yeah they actually changed their website name to http://www.onlyfactoryparts.com so try that instead.chitown_240sx wrote:WOW!!! This is the best thread ever ... I usually don't read this things or stay on the forums long enough to read them but, damn. Wut your doing to ur car is the same thing I want to do to mine. I know u put up the links to where u got ur OEM placements parts but, the midwaypartsteam.com link does not work. Are those the only two u use???

thanks for the tips man. the only reason i'm not overlapping the metal and doing plug welds is because i'm trying to avoid the seams rusting between the 2 layers of metal again. and trust me, those seat mounting braces will be replaced with 16 gauge plates on both sides.ca20det wrote:really good job man but you should as much as possible avoid continuous welding beads... you should rather use plug welds and seal the edges of your pieces welded on.... you should also gring a little bit your welds to avoid moisture to stay in all the crevasses of the welds/porosity.... as for the parte you took off from where the front seat was bolted to, you really should replace these because they serve a purpose of spreading the impact load in case of an accident instead of the bolt tearing the surrounding metal
What thickness of metal will you be using to patch up the rails?m tr4nch wrote:

the only real big things i have left to do is fab up my patches for the frame rail sections, seat mounts, and door hinge mounts, and that will basically be it. i already have the sheet metal cut out and bent, i just have to trim everything down for fitment and weld everything up.
thanks for the comments
2 layers of 16 gauge. check back a few pages, there are a couple pics of it.krayzie94 wrote:What thickness of metal will you be using to patch up the rails?
