i think this is the best thread i seen thus far and im very happy it is inspiring so many people to do the same thing to there 240's. i have been in love with the 240sx ever since i saw my first 180sx drifting in japan. i hope that most of the people inspired by this thread will go threw with restoring theres rather than sending them to a junkyard and keep the s13 alive and strong, for as long as possible at least.

I LOVE MY S13!!!!

When i get the money i'm goin to fix it right just as you are. thanks for being a great inspiration.

Wow!!!! Talk about going the extra mile. This is probably a pointless offer, but if you feel like taking a night of fabrication off, I can help. zer...ptersThis is a link to my z32 e-brake cable adapters in the Fabricators Market. With these, the whole swap is direct bolt on.

Good job thus far, and I'm looking forward to motor swap time

Very cool thread, you really went ballz to the wall with this project. My hats off to you, I used to have a rusty old 91, I did some rust patching and welding on her as well. This thread brings back memories

Keep it up!

This is awesome work man. I plan to do this with my car and I was wondering what you are using to find all the parts you need?

Is it a catalog or the internet or what?

I know a little off topic with this thread because this is an S13 car your working on - but I just went to the website posted above and had a quick question someone who would be viewing this might know - The nismo coilover setup - isn't it just JIC with nismo slapped on it?

really good job man but you should as much as possible avoid continuous welding beads... you should rather use plug welds and seal the edges of your pieces welded on.... you should also gring a little bit your welds to avoid moisture to stay in all the crevasses of the welds/porosity.... as for the parte you took off from where the front seat was bolted to, you really should replace these because they serve a purpose of spreading the impact load in case of an accident instead of the bolt tearing the surrounding metal

thanks for the tips man. the only reason i'm not overlapping the metal and doing plug welds is because i'm trying to avoid the seams rusting between the 2 layers of metal again. and trust me, those seat mounting braces will be replaced with 16 gauge plates on both sides.

the only real big things i have left to do is fab up my patches for the frame rail sections, seat mounts, and door hinge mounts, and that will basically be it. i already have the sheet metal cut out and bent, i just have to trim everything down for fitment and weld everything up.

thanks for the comments

What thickness of metal will you be using to patch up the rails?

2 layers of 16 gauge. check back a few pages, there are a couple pics of it.
