free on board. . . basically, you pay after it arrives if I'm not mistaken....Q_SHIP wrote:Whats FOB?
lectures can be helpful for the rest of usFalkdesigns wrote:I didn't need a lecture on what the Q45a suspension is, I just didn't know it was the same suspension on the President and Q45a .
you can do it on the G50 active too.SoCal90Q45 wrote:So this "President" also has ACTIVE suspension that can be modded by a new Electronic controller????
if so ... thats just siiiiiick!

Man.. that's real smart move I have been thinking of similar too, bringing President as a whole car just without the engine as scrape metal parts or something, then transplant everything to it.Good job!rasrx7 wrote:parts
JDM spec, when it comes to a real imported car, is important I thinkFalkdesigns wrote:Right! Thanks!
I think converting to LHD makes federalization easier. Besides, why in the heck would anyone actually want (besides being able to say "look at me! my car is RHD!!!") to drive on the right over here? Everything would seem out of place. It's different when it's the norm.
That may be possible, but was not exactly what I meant to suggest. I don't know the person who owns the car, and have no idea how they got it here or how much it cost them. None of my business, so I wouldn't even ask. What I was trying to point out was that Presidents are available if you really want one, but it's going to cost you a chunk of change just to get it on the boat. Then, once it gets to the port your fun really begins. It's sorta like that old question that shows up on every car forum at some point or another: "Can I put a (pick an engine) into my (pick a car)?"Sure. Anything can be done. How much time/effort/money are you willing to throw at the problem?SoCal90Q45 wrote:So am I to understand that this President was imported to the states for a mere $4900 minus the engine?
Around 85% of G50 sold in Japan were active. They tended to think of that as the standard suspension and as the conventional one as a downgrade.elwesso wrote:you can do it on the G50 active too.
the figure $4900 came from an example. not the car brought in, and it came complete with all the parts and was low mileage.SoCal90Q45 wrote:So am I to understand that this President was imported to the states for a mere $4900 minus the engine?
Did it have ECU / TCU and trans?
If so - that's a pretty amazing ride for < $20k
How many miles on the speedo?
if you had more of them down there, or any at all you would be fine with the RHD scene. it's perfectly fine. I can switch between it and LHD fine without any problem, and in fact i did last year before i sold my USDM 300zx, i would switch between my JDM and my USDM ones in the same day, and would drive either of them randomly, your not out of place, everything is really close to the same, and you get used to it really quicklyFalkdesigns wrote:Right!
