lowering spring ride height?

I have 2" drop springs on stock struts and I feel that my suspension is too soft and unresponsive. The ride quality is pretty easy and soft but I really want to get a set of coilovers soon.

i think when it comes down to bad roads socal wins hands down

is that red car in your sig the car youre talking about? if so that looks great height wise. heck if springs would get me that height id be tempted to get some for my beater.
