For the record, these are the only springs available in the US for your car!

All VH series V8 some from the factory with CAI and dual exhaust.

Removing the viscous driven fan will fry your engine in a very few minutes in TX summer.

You won't gain anything by putting a cold air intake on except cows clogging your throttle body or possibly moo-ing their way to the cylinders. Pulling a fan on car intended to be driven in Texas of all places would be a serious mistake. Besides, you'd gain maybe .5 hp from taking the viscous fan off. Viscous fans hardly draw any power at all except when engaged, and they only engage when they need to keep the engine from overheating, in which case it wouldn't matter anymore since you'd be making 0 horsepower with a blown motor. If you want it to sound meaner get Flowmasters or Magnaflows. Better yet,Flowsounds since they are the exact same thing as a 40 series Flowmaster but much cheaper. Flowmaster didn't renew the patent on the original 40 series so there are many less-expensive copies.

There are no Bilstein shocks/struts for the 98' Q. You should get the Espelier springs, I have the Tein ones and they worked well too. You should consider replacing your strut cartidge (front) and shocks (rear) when you do the lowering springs. Unfortunately you have only two choices, either replacement stock ones from the dealership, they will run you in the area of $500-600 bucks. The other alternative is to get your hands on some KYB SR Specials, which are only available in Japan. I got mine from Onetongarage who is sometiems active on the board. They will run closer to $800.

If your car has more than 60k your wasting your time lowering it without refreshing your struts and shocks.

I had a similar round of questions. You guys sure know your stuff. And I agree never to pull that fan. They engineered it that way for a reason.

Show me a link to Bilstein kits for a 98', I looked for 2 years to find anything that I didn't have to import from Japan for high $$$. They simply do not make them or if they do you cannot get them in the states. We all went through this from Falkdesigns on. It looks today that your choice is factory struts and Espelier or Tein springs or find a set of KYB SR Specials....their do appear to be some coilover alternatives but these are really expensive.

If you think there is a Bilstein alterative, post a link, I challege you to post a link cause I looked for a long time and found nothing.

Sure if I spoke Japanese!!!! Touche for finding them, but I would take the SR Specials over them any day of the week.

But good find I hadn't seen those before, but for some reason I was looking/hoping for a link to them in the US via a reseller.
