hi all,

my 06' m35x has a clunking noise coming from the front passenger side when coming to a complete stop or upon take off from a complete stop, I sometimes hear it when going over light potholes.
I had it checked and they "think" its the lower control arm.
is this common?
can I change just the bushings or is it the complete arm?
and where can I get the best price on it?

thanks

Change the sway bar end links first. $25/each and far easier. Will probably fix your issue. If that doesn't fix it completely, then replace the sway bar bushings (there are two of them), four nuts total.

I checked the links and they are good, i think it sounds to hard for it to be sway bar associated but ill check

My bet is still on the links.

My 07 with BC coilovers blew them every 5kmi. I got very used to that sound and the conditions under which it happened. They always 'looked' good and the sound didn't happen if I did the normal tests, but after changing them each time I was fine for another 5k. Not sure what was up with that car, if the alignment was off or something (I had it re-aligned, etc.)...oh well.

Update the thread when you find the root cause.

Ok, so got it checked, it's the front lower control arm bushing, I've looked online for it seems like you can only buy the arm, is there anywhere I can buy just the bushing? And is it possible to just replace the bushing itself?

Did you ever find replacement bushings or did you end up replacing the whole arm?

having a similar clunk and pulled the wheel off to look at it, I need a new lower control arm bushing, my local dealer will only replace the entire arm, you can purchase the busing online, but i'm wondering how difficult the replacement of the bushing is considering the labor quote was over $300 alone.

folks - i'm getting this popping noise front passenger side and i want to check with those who are having similar issue. i had the dealer replaced the outer tie rod and it didn't go away. i removed and re install the passenger strut - using OEM part and still popping.

i replaced end links and checked the sway bar bushing - regreased and still have the frikin noise. this is really pissing me off. i googled and found this below - so if anyone has this "popping" noise issue resolved - please post your findings.

thanks

were you able to use the parts you posted in the post above? I believe your car was M45 and if it worked for you then i think it will work for the M35 considering when i looked up the Lower Control Arm - they're both using the same nissan/infiniti part. 54500EG300
