the z tube comes stock on the Nissan Z. its the tube between the throttle body and the MAF. on the G there is a big sound baffle on the tube decreasing the noise at WOT and i believe some air flow. i guess to make the G be more of luxury car than a true sports car like the Z.ssheltz wrote:OK, I give up. What is a Z tube? And if it's for your infinity, shouldn't it be a "G" tube?
Have your brother check here http://www.nissanparts.org/, it's one of our sponsors. If that doesn't work for him, I can see what I can do from my connection. Be sure the rotor checks out ok.redstradic wrote:hey guys. my brother needs a new rear passenger caliper for the max. sounds like it is seizing up and sticking to the rotor. where is the best place to get one and there is anything else he would need or to look for. dave in texas?
glad to hear it. wish i would have known that about Collins about a year ago. i was always going to Huffman. if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for for the ECU flash.ssheltz wrote:I had my O2 work done today at Collins Nissan. It was a MUCH better experiance than Huffman.I would compare it to the level of service I had when I was taking my Saab to Bluegrass Motor sport.
What a facility! Car museum, restaurant, NISMO products on display in the waiting area... nice place.
They did the TSB service as well as replace the sensor. I only had to pay for the ecu re-programming. I could just be me, but it seems faster.

If you look up a part on the link, the list price (almost center of page) is what anyone would pay walking in off of the street. The price to the far right is our cost (probably wholesale). I would imagine if you need to order something, just call and tell them you're a NICO member (compare price on the web page with what they tell you over the phone).redstradic wrote:thanks scott for the info. appreciate it. i told him to take it to the dealer first just to see if its something simple first. if i order from one of the sponsors do we/I get a discount. cause i need to order something for the G as well. thanks
oops,SES light came back again this morning.ssheltz wrote: 1 Hour labor = $77.00
Thanks. I have not ordered the MIL eliminator yet. I was going to see if I could find anything locally. There is a shop on broadway I've heard about that has a dyno. Maybe there? As I understand these will fake out the signal back to the computer so it appears the pre-cat is working. Since it is reading a high O2 level, my mixture is probably off too.audtatious wrote:The '00 WSP y-pipe removes a pre-cat, right?
If so, you will have to use something to get rid of it. I'll look around for additional products.
Call a different dealer's parts department, and ask them if the right side is available seperate. Send me an e-mail if you need any help acquiring the part, always glad to help.cullenj76 wrote: I'm sure Scott will have some good input on whether or not you can buy just one side from the dealer. I'm not sure.

I like the black on the rear valance
Why bother painting it? It looks great and can easily be brought back to stock.I'd leave it the way it is. Kind of "audi" looking. It takes the bulkiness out of the back end. Hmmm... I wonder if it does the same for women? Could be a real money maker.redstradic wrote:thanks for the info as well Cullen!
On the otherhand, i just had some vinyl put on my lower bumper to break up all the white on the G. i kept seeing it on the S2000s and i liked it. just did vinyl for right now since i can remove it without any damage. thinking about getting it painted matte black after i add some more goodies to the car.let me know what you guys think.

Cool. I bet that's the case on 5th gen's as well.maxhopper97 wrote:At least on the 4th gen...All of the O2 harnesses plug in either near the top of the motor in the rear passenger side of the engine bay (near strut tower), or the ones in the front should be near the exhaust manifold. It should just be a matter of finding which plug for which sensor.
