Ok, so my car has sat for about a week awaiting a new water pump. Today i got it in the mail and went through all the work to install it, and bleed the cooling system. yada yada yada, all that went fine. I took it for a quick drive to see if there were any problems and nothing so i decided to have some fun. Messing around on a nice corner by my house, i spun out. no big deal, so i put it in first and took off. Ever since i spun out, the sound of the turbo spooling is rediculously loud. At least that's what i think the noise is coming from. It still builds 12psi, and it seems to build it at the same rate. BTW its a S13 black top with approx 39k on it. Any help will be very much appreciated!!!!

Thanks Dan

I know, its an epic loss sort of thing. But any help with my current SR problem would be much appreciated. I forgot to mention that i put a megan exhaust manifold on about 50 miles ago. Any possibility its a gasket leak from where the turbo bolts to the manifold? Maybe when i spun out it rocked my exaust badly?

you may have cracked the manifold, check for exhaust leaks, also check for ECU codes.

I know!

You sloshed your oil pan taking a corner too fast, hence possibly starving your turbo for a second and cause a fin to overheat and crack or chip a little bit.

You might have not done that much damage, as long as your bearings in the center cartridge are good. Which is sounds like they are...

Solution? Check your turbo for shaft play and make sure it spins okay when its cool. With your hand, if those check out your bearings should be fine.

Solution to prevent:

Get a baffled oil pan, ebay ones work great!

after checking for shaft play and lokking for a cracked manifold. look for a black soot looking mark around any gaskets. If that turns up nothing. With the car on have a friend rev it up and visually examine or even put your hands around your couplers to see if you have a boost leak. expecially the ones that sit low you might have possibly kicked something up or hit something causing a coupler to rip or tear. a pinhole leak would still let you hit your boost but cause the coupler to swell and it would be loud.
