225 horse may not seem like a lot now, but in 1987 standards that was pretty damn good, now is not the case. The 5.0 made 300lb./ft. of torque stock though! im open minded dont get me wrong, yeah the 240 handled better, but thats not what im after, i want to go fast in a straight line. its a good daily driver and get better gas mileage on the freeway than my 240 did (until i get gears) . Each car has its good points and its bad points. Its all a matter of opinion and depends on what you like, to each his own.

If I wanted handeling I would have gotten a 3rd gen Fbpdy!!! I like torque, and that is why I have a Mustang with rwd! And stock mid 14s back in 1986 isn't so bad!!!

You guys make very valid points. Domestics just have never been my cup of tea.

But I'd never REALLY talk s*** about cars that are faster than me because what the hell can I say? "Mine's nice and slow, but at least it looks perdy." I don't want to sound like a Civic owner.

Fast is fast, whether its a boat, snowmobile, rc car, domestic, or airplane.

Well I have semi-results in for the race. The V8 guy ended up racing a Semi-new V6 stang(94,95 or 96) well the V6 guy told the V8(jerk) guy that his V6 was actually a I4. Well the V8 guy believed him and they raced, V8 guy got smoked, and wanted to race again, same results. Havent seen the V8 guy out since then.The V6 was stock w/ a intake system. So Im kinda positive on that being a possible victory for me.

I have beaten a SC V6 running about 6PSI(I Sware) seen sc and owner said it was about 6psi, vortec. But anyways, Im not ragging on V8 stangs, cause riding in a stang that gives you whiplash on accident is something to give respect to, but a POS that cant outrun a stock 6. Well some cars are ragged and some are not. Like they all said FAST is FAST!!

Just for the record, I do like mustangs(Im not hating on them), its not the car, its mostly some owners who cant be opened minded and see that a 4 banger can be just as fast(street wise).

I don't deny that your cars can be as fast, but with an intake and exhaust you really can't. I would rather spend a couple of hundred bucks to run low 14s high 13s, than spend 3000 on a Turbo for the same results! I am planing on spending about 2500-3500 on all my mods and I expect low 12s at 109 or so!!! This is all N/A, with stock parts form a 1993 Cobra!!!

I think the V8 driver couldn't drive. A V6 Mustang with a CAI and exhaust would run a high 16!!! Any V8 should be quicker except for maybe a 305 3rd gen from the early 80s, such as an LO3 with an auto!!!

the true good handleing mustang before the IRS cobra had to be the 85.5 SVO , very light 2992lbs ,16inch wheels (big for 85 standards) and 205 hp 248lb feet of torque out of a 2.3litre intercooled turbo 4

1985.5 = 0-60 in 6.6 seconds, standing quarter mile in 15.1 seconds, Top Speed 140 mph

Good point maine. I've been in my fair share of accidents, believe me, and i wouldn't endanger myself nor the lives of others that are travelling with me. I wasn't totally trashed to the point where I didn't know what was going on and all, just buzzing under the influence of alcohol and a few other unmentionables. Still no excuse, I know, but if I was trashed, I would have gotten out and beat the crap outta that punk!

The plan was to stick around and party till I sobered up. Then the cops came, so we had to jet in a hurry. Went to another bar not far from where we were. Strangely enough, I seem to drive alot more cautiously when I am intoxicated.

And if I beat the crap outta that guy, I'd prolly still be in jail to this day. Ditto if I got caught DUI. I'm not making up excuses, but s*** happens and given the circumstances, I believe I made the right decision (I'm still here to speak about it, right?). Any way kids, don't drink and drive, anything can happen, even if its not your own fault (it will be if they find out you're drunk!!)

Well, at least you put some thought into it.. still a bad idea. I won't preach.. I 've had a few moments in my days when I put myself and others in danger. It took two of my buddies getting OUI's, and me going to jail for operating after suspension for me to smarten up! Now I either stay home, spend the night, or get the ex-girl to drive me home... oh yeah, I've got the puppy dog eyes when I'm drunk! But, fortunately for me, those days are few and far between now.... just too damn busy!

LOL trueslide, you're a joker!! There were 3 chicks in my ride, and 2 of them were hot, not to mention loaded with alcohol!!! Yeah, but don't cruise with ANY chicks, or dudes while drunk, but I'm the biggest hypocrit at the moment.

Hey maine, I've gotten into my share of trouble myself, some people just never learn! Spent a few hours in a holding cell, but never been to a jail, the whole point of causing trouble is to not end up there! Also, my friends are jerks and NEVER want to drive, so I'm always the "designated" driver.

Thanks for sharing your story, I see your speaking from experience and not just trying to scold me for doing something stupid, people are always more receptive to what you have to say if its from experience.

I always try to give my self enough time to soberup before driving, but in some cases, time is working against you. Besides, that dude was getting on my nerves, and ireally wanted to stay outta trouble that night. How dry would it have been if ihave these 3 good looking chicks with me, and I get my as$ hauled off to jail, only to spend the night thinking of what may have happened if I wasn't so stupid? Yeah, I get a little wild and crazy at times, I love to party and all, but I try to stay focused and not be a total idiot when it comes to driving.

And kids, just cause you are drunk and high, doesn't mean all these hot chicks are gonna jump in your car and go cruising with you. Unless you're a PIMP!!!! j/k
