I always think about all the hard work and money ive put into my car when someone lines up with me on the street. i might as well die with my car if i get in a wreck (j/k but ya know what i mean)

First of all, if you haven't removed your speed limiter, the car will shut down around 112mph. Assuming you were able to overcome that, you'd still get smoked.

I raced a C5 Vette down the 110 and over the Vincent Thomas Bridge (Ever seen the new Gone in 60 Seconds? That one.) My car is only running 8psi with I/E. We had a couple of runs, where I was using 3rd and 4th. He had more power, but it wasn't THAT much more. With another 10-15 pounds of boost and some more agressive suspension settings, it's conceivable to be able to at least hang with a C5.

Those cars sound mean at WOT.

Edit: I have no idea what I was talking about. I got the C5 and the Z06 confused (sorry, I'm not a big Vette fan). The car I raced was a Z06. He kept walking away from me.

no limiter on a 5spd first gen alty. id like to be able to beat one at some point. weve sorta determined that a 75 shot on a ka is about the equivalent of 10-11 lbs of boost on a ka-t. from a dead stop, the c5 will take it no doubt. from a roll, it can be even'd up a bit.

I cut off a c5 and he changed lanes to pass me but i gunned it. Im pretty sure he was at WOT b/c he stayed behind me to whole time til 70 then we stopped b/c of traffic. I think from 0- maybe 80 a SR'd 240 can hang with a C5 but after that, its over.

I held a auto 2000 C5 till 120mph at 12psi, so I dunno about you dudes. We're only talking about a car that runs low 14s/high 13s. Not knowing exactly which model and trim the C5 was it's hard to say, you're basically looking at a 12.8-14.5 possible 1/4 mile performance (12.8 being a zo6, 14.5 being an auto convertable). Being that most sold are auto hardtop, you would have won.

We all seem to have illusions about how fast a C5 really is. I'd say after about 120-130mph the C5 would start to pull on your average T25 boosted SR, but not much before that. (assuming the SR has Intake/exhaust, FMIC and 14psi)

None of those cars are fast stock. The Saleen is pretty quick, but it's not even crazy fast. Let's not argue.

8 months to do everything (suspension and engine stuffs). thats only working weekends, waiting on parts and i ended up buying another 240 within that time. the actual swap took 8 hours to make running and the only experience i had before all this was changing oil. i hadnt even changed spark plugs before.

be careful with those old boys with the stock looking c5 hardtops. Some of those good old boys can simply get a set of cams and a few other goodies and still look stock. Especially from the rear, which is where you will be seeing it from.

Don't get me wrong - I love my turbo import as much as the next guy. Vettes can be monsters in the right hands.
