Are you aware most of what the news networks are reporting are less than 25% of precincts reporting. A LOT Of the states they are claiming for OBama if you look have less than 10% reporting. It's way too early to call.

Obama has won several key states. New York,Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. and no republican has gone into presidency without winning ohio, in the last 12 presidencies i believe.

for example, McCain is down by 15% in Ohio right now, thats a huge difference, and there is no coming back.... They do the math, if the remaining votes will not make a difference of what stands at this point, they color the state red or blue....

^^So the election is over because Hachi's man is winning!

Sounds about right!

Sounds a lot like WA state 4 years ago.

Thankfully, our state will right itself this time around.

Wrong. They are painting states blue that are less than 10% REPORTING. Are you telling me 90% of the people in that state can't overturn the other 10%? I doubt it. I'm laughing watching CBS and CNN as they "declare" these states. Watch the % reporting when they state them and you will too.

*Ohio as I look RIGHT NOW HAS 16% REPORTING. It is not impossible for McCain to win Ohio...

never did i say the election was over. He did win several key states. McCain is definitely going to win Texas, Arizona, Indiana,Virginia, and many southern states. Stop putting words in my mouth.

your right, but with a difference as big as (ohio) 15% it most likely will not over turn. Now 5% lead or less, maybe, but the percentage reporting is put into an equation of how they will most likely vote. Now you are correct that it could over turn but it is unlikely.

Calm down. Everybody is itching to call the race before the people getting paid to call the race can call the race.

I normally don't post here, but I'm not sure I understand how the "win" for a state is determined.

I am looking at NM on CNN's Election Center, and it's telling me Obama has won, while he has only 37% of the votes, and McCain has 62%, and only 4% of the precincts have reported.

What gives, and how can they possibly determine a "win" with less than 5% of the state reporting?

a lot of it has to do with whats been reported. Also, the percent reporting dont detail what was seen in exit polls at the actual polling locations and are much quicker to report than actual certified ellection results.

PS. Fox news has Obama at 200 without CA or HI or OR or WA (which totals more than 70 and is pretty much locked)...or CO or FL or VA or NC or NV

You aren't seriously considering that WA will end up a Red State, are you?

Ohio looks like it's pretty solid. With Ohio, McCain would have to win every remaining state but WA, OR, CA, and HI AND then one of those four to win the Presidency. I cannot see any feasible situation in which that would happen, but then again, no numbers are final as yet.

You may also notice that almost all of the states that they haven't declared yet are being won by McCain. Many of them are doing better for McCain than many of the states already attributed to Obama

No, I was referencing 4 years ago when the state Governor's race was decided by 120 some odd votes.. the closest governor's race decision in US history.. we suffered 3 recounts in total.

First two recounts went to the man who actually won, but the Left insisted on recounting until they got their decision. Finally as soon as Gregoire got her win, that was it. All recounting was final, just as soon as Dems got their pawn elected.

exit polling. The people who sometimes are outside you polling place asking who you voted for and giving you a short survey. The major networks have become very conservative about projecting based on them, but some evidence is incontrovertible. For example, I doubt it will take long to project CA for one side.

Ok, even I can tell you Obama has CA. That's where the majority of his funding came from, and they are about the most democratic state there is.

Furthermore, its pretty certain that McCain will sweep the midwest.

It's still up for grabs.
