I've been looking at M35s for a while now and ended up coming across this 2011 M37 with 79,000 miles. I would like any help please if this would be a good purchase or am I better off staying with the older M35 around roughly the same mileage.
Thank you for the input.

bought mine at 75k miles for around the same price. Loving it so far, drives smooth, like new. I'm confident that this car can get to 150-200k without costing too much

Wow, that's a $28k car out here in California, although it would be rust free out here but still what a difference!

Take it for a drive. The powertrain should be VERY smooth. There should be now harsh vibrations, sounds, rattling, etc. Check the maintenance history for the vehicle. If all is well, then there shouldn't be any foreseeable issues that are lurking. The VQ is a very reliable motor and should last a long time.

I recommend going with the M37 over the M35. I just traded out of my 08 M45x for an 11 M56x and LOVE it.

Just for you to compare, bought mine late last year in south Florida. For what it's worth, Florida has a tremendous amount of newer, very low mileage cars. The older population buys them but doesn't drive very much. Might have to buy sight unseen, but the value is there.

Thank you all for the helpful feedback. I will be going to look at the car in the coming days. Still undecided at the moment. I ended up coming across this '07 M35x with only 63,000 miles for $15k. http://www.herbchambersinfinitiofwestbo ... 13c925.htm I prefer the '09 with the better engine and the upgraded speedometer cluster, but finding that year with as low as miles ends up being close to as much money as the M37 I've posted. I am going to look at both. If you have any feedback on which is a better purchase I would appreciate it.

This is my first big car purchase and have never spent this much $ on anything. I bought a '98 Maxima SE for $4500 eight years ago. I wish I could still be driving it but New Hampshire winters have taken their toll on it. To say I've gotten my money out of that car is an understatement. So I'm very cautious right now make such a large purchase on a vehicle. My new job entails a lot of driving, around 20k miles a year, so I want something comfortable for myself in AWD and it seems the Infinti M is the only car that I'm drawn to. Plus after such good luck with my Maxima I want to keep it in the family. Again thank you for your help.

Given as many miles as you drive a year, I would go with the lower mile fully loaded M35, vs. the base M37.

My only concern with the M35 is the spotty MPG I hear people getting with them. I will be driving mostly highway so that will make a difference but when I read people getting 300 or less miles to a tank that's a problem for me. Especially since I get between 28-22 MPG now with my Maxima and around 450-400 miles per tank. What is the typical MPG you guys get with your M37s?

$4000 (price difference) buys a sh!tload of gas! Even at $4/gallon, that's 1000 gallons.

My m56 gets about 400 per tank. Mostly highway miles. Average since car was new 22.1 mpg.

Excellent point. It is a lot of extra money to put towards gas and other things I would want to do to the car.

To note also: Both these cars are certified through Herb Chambers dealership which means I have 5 days to return the vehicle for a full refund or 30 days/1500 miles to bring the car back and trade in for full value another car through Herb Chambers. So I do have an opportunity to get a good feel for whichever car I get with a peace of mind I'm not totally stuck.

I have an 06 M35X with 86,000 miles. Drive it like I stole it around town; cruise at 80 mph on highway and have averaged 21 MPG over the years. (Use premium gas)

My 15 Q70S is averaging 23 MPG driven the same way. More efficient engine and the 7 speed trans.

Those are pretty respectable numbers. I could deal with either of those if I'm getting the comfort and style I would be with either car. If I wanted better mileage I could find something more efficient. But nothing appeals to me like the Infinitis. Plus having AWD is a major factor being in New England.

I have come across another '11 M37X. This one has only 52K miles on it and they are asking $19,900. They list it as the premium package, but judging from the interior and the research I've done it looks like the Deluxe Touring package from the stitching in the seats and silver powdered trim. Am I correct in that? I much prefer the trim and interior to that of the base model I previously posted. The color I don't prefer as much as the Storm Front Gray. Being that you spend all the time inside the car that should be more weighted towards making a decision then the exterior color.
Being that it's five hours from me I don't know that I'll get a chance to take a look at it. Any thoughts you have on this new listing compared to the other two I've sent would be appreciated. Thank you.

This link explains the 2011 M packages pretty well: http://infinitinews.com/en-US/infiniti/ ... ress-kit-2

It also covers all of the Infiniti models as well. have a 2012 M56x with this trim level. I love it.

I'm glad you read the fine print. Most people hear the guarantee of 3 or 5 days to return the car and think they get their money back. You only get to put the money towards another car on their lot.

My suggestion: go with a newer vehicle even if it has few more miles on it (speaking generally, not towards a specific car you've mentioned). Older cars, even with lower mileage than average still run the risk of the same set of parts going bad just because of the time since the car was built. 20k more miles is quite a bit, but to get a 2 year newer car, I would say it's worth it.

It's less than an inch. You would have to put the two side-by-side and measure with a ruler to know there was a difference.

Update to my search:
I have put down a deposit on a 2011 M37x with 65K miles. Malbec Black, fully loaded with all available packages. I wasn't looking for one with the technology package because it does seem from the posts here it can be a nuisance sometimes, but it happened to have it. Price for the car is $20,598. According to all available pricing guides this is about $2-3k below market value. I was hoping to bring it down but now some dealerships have this no negotiation policy and they just list the cars below value to start. Though I still tried to haggle it got nowhere. I do think this is a fair price for the car. It's going to be a few days before I finalize the deal so if you guys have any feedback I would appreciate it. Thank you.

The wheels are not original for the M. They appear to be G37 18's which is pretty cool since I think they look better than the M's 18's.
