im just curious what the four vacuum hoses towards the bottom of the intake manifold are supposed to go to, there are three which look like they are the same size and the fourth looks like it is bigger. ive checked on the forums and i was just hoping that someone would be able to help me out real quick, if your willing to help thanks if not i hate to be a bother. there are also two hoses in front of them one from right under the intake butterfly and then a thicker one under that with a T connecting it to two others one which branches off to nowhere and im not sure what to hook it to......email me if pics would help you answer better. thanks a lot to anyone willing to help...! you mean the metal ones that go under the intake manifold at the back? you really only need the two coming from the front of the manifold that go to the charcoal canister thingy (black canister) on the driver's side of the radiator and one from the manifold to the fpr, and then to the wastegate.

edit: they are for the butterly control system i believe. if these are the ones you speak of.. zerothread/225309

the reason i said you dont need them is because i removed mine.

i would if i had a camera....or a card reader for my phone. i physically removed the butterflies from the manifold when i rebuilt the engine last. you can just unplug the actuator for them and they should remain open. of course this still leaves them in the intake runners so youll have a little bit of an obstruction. try searching around a bit, im sure someone has put up pictures of it done at some point.

Ok the best i could do at night. This is how I did my hoses and it works for me it may be a better way? Looking from the left(top) to right(bottom) 1. boost gauge(T off from fuel pressure regulator) 2.nothing 3, and 4 hook into each other.

Please read the FAQ, this picture is clearly posted in there.

If you follow this, you can ditch the 4 metal lines under the intake.

I looked at this pic for hours and still couldn't figure it out. This engine is new to me and I'm sure others too. We need real pics to understand. When I look under the hood things just don't seem that simple.

Ignore/remove the 4 metal lines.

There are only 2 vac connections on the back of the intake manifold. One is very large and is for the brake booster. The other is smaller.

The smaller one needs to come off of the manifold and go into a "T" which feeds one line to the Fuel Pressure Regulator, and the other to the Butterfly Actuator.

There is a similar sized nipple UNDER the Throttle Body, that just needs capped.

There is a slightly larger diameter nipple on the outside of the intake manifold, near the first runner. That should feed the BOV.

If you're using the stock CA T25, there is a nipple on the front of the turbo. Connect that nipple to the nipple on the Wastegate Actuator.

Everything else can be ignored/removed. That will get the car running and working well enough to drive.

I know this might be coming from another thread but with this set-up does the butterfly stay open?

no because it is feeding vacuum to the actuator which pulls the butterfly closed. the more load=less vacuum thus opening the butterflies back up .in other word no they dont stay open lol

they do not stay open!!! if there is a vacuum source going to the butterfly actuator then they will close when they see vacuum.the less vacuum (more load or throttle) the more they open up letting more air in, boosting or not.more gas=more openno gas=closed, running on 4 ports instead of 8.im 17 too!! yay haha
