If you find one, lemme borrow it so I can do a dyno run on it for the good of the forum!

Yea, I have another post (I need to bump it) that I am wanting to do dyno comparisons of the stock CA T25 vs. SR T25, vs. SR T28. They would all be on my car, with identical mods, at identical boost (appox. 7psi)

That would give everyone a quantative bench mark to see what kind of gains you should expect from swapping out JUST the turbo.

I have a CA T25, that I have already dyno'd. I've got an SR T28, that I'm waiting on parts to fix, so all I'm lacking is the SR T25. I don't really want to buy one, just to put it on the car, dyno it once, and then pull it back off. I would be willing to pay for the dyno, if someone would be willing to pay for part of the cost of shipping the turbo back and forth.

I think this member may be able to help! I was waiting on the rest of his post to open since I quoted him, but the damn thing is taking waaay too long. Could be the effects of this stupid incoming hurricane .

haha how do you have the money(and patience) to dyno the turbos. Find how much a stock sr with the same mods put out on the same dyno you're using. =D

First, I've got mad love for the CA, and this CA crowd, so I'm willing to spend a little cash for the greater good of the community. Secondly, cost of swap is only time and set of exhaust mani gaskets. Dyno time is relatively cheap, as I'm friends with the owner of the shop, as I used to roll with him, long before he was a shop owner. Plus he gives a discounted rate for a baseline only run. Regardless, he's still the cheapest in town. Lastly, I work for a Pool and Spa company. It's a good industry, and if you've got the amount of training I do, you tend to be "worth" a decent amount of money.

i've done the t25 to t25g upgrade, and you'll love that extra hit.. trust me. 1 bar on these things are p0rn for a cheap and easy upgrade ( i paid 130 AUS for mine, off a car that has done 40thous kms)

I'm being offered a discounted engine for helping my friend move the CA engines, so if this engine is what he says it is, I'll snatch off the turbo and send it to you.

Yeah, but the thing is, the numbers will be skewed in terms of spool-up and max power since you have a high compression motor!

The numbers will be skewed for a number of reasons. What WON'T be skewed, and the purpose of these dyno's, is to show a quantative DIFFERENCE between swapping turbo's. The actual horsepower numbers will be higher than others, but the difference that swapping turbo's makes should be close.

That would be awesome Dee. As I said before, I won't be keeping the turbo, simply using it for a few dyno pulls and then pulling it back off and sending it back to it's respective owner.

float I have a t25g in excellent shape that Id be willing to contribute if Dee cant do it. Youre gonna have to wait a bit, as Ive gotta buy my new turbo first, but otherwise, I'll pay for the shipping to you when I take it off, then when you send it back, it'll be up for sale! Hows that for proof that its a good turbo, lol.
