Picked it up this afternoon....

All the crap loaded into my neighbor's truck... Yes, came with an extra head too...

The BRAND NEW Spec clutch that came with it...

My SR T25 with HKS adj actuator that came with it...

There are still some more little odds and ends I need to pick up from his place but I ran out of time and truck was full...

I'm happy!!!!!!

Yeah, I mentioned it above the pic that shows it. It's an SR T25 with a fresh rebuild with ZERO miles on it. And has the HKS adjustable actuator on it too

If you look close in the top right corner of the pic, you can see the harness and the ECU (look for the blue plug and blue part of the ECU.

ah that sucks monkey balls man... this somewhat happend to me.. me and my buddy took a pair of vice grips, tight as we could put it on the headbolt... stuck a breaker bar in between the handles.. and rotate.. took us some time be we eventually got it. then we just used a ka head bolt in its replacement. good luck with that!

btw: the vice grips continually slipped off.. but we eventually got it.

That won't work on the CA. The headbolt is down in a hole. When you go to ARP headstuds, you've got to find a 12pt deepwell and grind the walls down to get it to fit in there.

His is stock too, but how did you get a pair of vice grips down in the hole? Was it the needle nose type?

they were regular grips. they barely fit in the hole, but they fit. i'll take a picture today of the grips on a bolt in the head.. maybe itll help who knows.

Vice grips inside a CA's head? Hmmm, I didn't think it was possible. I'll have to go look at a head to see if this can be done. Excellent acquisition! And for the price, you can't go wrong. But $450 is somewhat scary especially when that's normally the cost or a little bit more than a stock SR20DE, a CA18DE or even a used KA24DE. Unless this individual was rich and had no more use for it, couldn't wire the thing and got so frustrated that he/she sold it for dirt cheap, or that puppy is blown the F*^ck up. Wet blocks like that one get me nervous, but hopefully it's all good and you indeed got a good engine for a phenomenal price.

For that price you can put oversized forged pistons and new rods in it and still be saving money.

I got it from my friend. His dad is stationed in Japan. When he was visiting last October, he went to a junkyard and pulled the whole motorset. His cost was $180. He gets 400 pounds of free shipping everytime he goes, so the shipping to the port of Tampa was free. He got the spec clutch new and the SRT25 was from my friend's S13 blacktop. He was going to put it in his '93 hatch, but the car itself had so many issues, he just ditched the whole project. He is now getting rid of everything. Speaking of, he is getting me a list of everything he is selling, so I can put it up for sale for him. Some things include 180SX quarter windows, R32 GTR seat, R32 GTS-T wheels (a pair), and some other misc crap.

As for the head bolt, I am pissed. I was trying to remove the head so I could get the whole motor up my stairs into my apt where I could work on the motor in comfort. On the LAST headbolt, the hex socket slipped. I have NO IDEA HOW. All the others came out relatively easy. I am just going to drop it off at a machine shop and let them deal with removing it. I don't care if it costs me $50-75. I just want it out.

I DESIRE 180sx rear quarter windows.

Granted, I almost certainly can't afford them..

If anyone has a CUT harness, let me know. I'd like to get one to salvage a couple plugs off it. I managed to break a couple when I dropped my spare intake manifold on the harness.... DOH.

What about when you pull the KA out? That should have something that you can use...
