Looks like a Celica had a three way with a Supra and a 370Z and pooped out some mild awesomeness.

Me too, just wondering what kind of drive-train will be enclosed in that RWD goodness.

I like the overall shape, but I need to see it in a color that doesn't hide the details before I'll know what I think.

It does look pretty sleek, but it's only getting a 2.0L 4 banger? Come on now. Bring back the straight 6!

I was about to say that dang, Toyota manufactured some soul but...no...that's not what happened.
They just took an array of styling cues from a multitude of other manufactures and glued them together to form a, I'll admit it, attractive car.

Overall, I like it better than the last Celica. I'd definitely like to know more specifics. I'd be fine with an I4, provided that it weighs under 2700lbs and has a turbo option. I'd also like to see less busy-ness in the front end; but that's probably why I like cars from the 80s and 90s.

I love how they still tack on "86". It's a massive gimmick to attract the fanboys, that's all. This car has none of the elements that I find to be quality elements of an 86. It has WAY too much unsprung weight in those big silly brakes and wheels and it has this hideous bulky body that you know is packing on the LBS.

I actually really like the styling except for the head and tail lights.

I'm sure it will be a pig -- we had high hopes for the the Genesis Coupe and it weighed in at ~3300 lbs. I'd bet this, with all the extra equipment Toyota will add in will be more like 3600.

I guess alot of you guys aren't upto date on FT-86 news. It is powered by an Subaru flat 4. Supposedly pushing about 200hp in Toyota's N/A version, but Subaru's version should be turbo'd. They're targeting 2800lbs for the curb weight.

Yeah, I always assumed "FT" stood for "Fuji Toyota" to highlight the join effort.

I'm not to keen on the way that rear bumper works itself into the rear of the hatch (which seems to also be at an angle?)
It reminds me of something awful from renault.

Overall I like it though. Certainly a hell of a lot better than Honda's attempt at the CRX.

Holy crap! From that angle it really does look like the Renault's backside!

I'm not found of the Toyota design at all, very bulky and jagged. Looks like a jacked-up Scion TC.

I do love the look of the Subaru version, at least the concept photos/designs--looks more like the 7th gen Celica.
