well in that case you should come out here... there's a '77 yota hi-lux (much better set up than ours are) that comes out

Haven't checked up on this in a while, whats good son? You ready for this upcoming year? Have you built your schedule for this year yet? I'm sitting at around 35 events not including the Kart series I'm registering myself for as soon as reg opens.

NICE! What two pre-req events will you be going to to qualify for the finals?

My season started in Jan with one event (a NASA Autocross) but my next event doesn't take place until near the end of March.

and my truck is too loud for certain venues now.... had to get a new muffler and turn down pipes.... also might need an air box to quiet down the intake a bit

Are you still classed EP? If so, you're getting jacked on classing...

People run ITB's open (like myself), your intake noise shouldn't be a problem. As far as exhaust goes, have you talked to Greg yet about a BRM?

yep... EP... check the newly revised classing for EP for 2010... i was actually added to the rulebook lol

and yeah... people run ITB's all the time... much like the AE86 guy locally... he's making a custom air box for his this year to quiet it down

Is this quieting down being mandated? If so, you must have some serious sticklers working tech. The Rolla is pretty loud when I take the silencer out, but I've never had any complaints. Either way, it's not as loud as the F125's, I have to wear earplugs when I work the course for them.

You going to get footage from your winter series?

Piez, using the K&N housing as a template try fabricating a closed pan with a 3" hole going to the front of the truck and add a cold air intake coming from the high beam light with a cone filter. It shouldn't be too loud and should maintain your volumetric efficiency.

i didn't manage to snag any footage of mine saturday... but the video on the homepage here should be up for the rest of the week... you can see my truck in the first interview with the guy in the CP mustang because i was in grid right next to him. http://www.mvptvsports.com/

and yes... the sound is mandated... you might want to check your numbers this year if you can in some way... because there will be a few national sites checking them this year... san diego limit is 93 (like a few of our local sites) and a few other places will have a 100 decibel limit this year.

locally... 2 of the 3 sites we run have a limit of 93 decibels measured from 50' away perpendicular to the vehicle on a spot on the track where the cars are expected to be on the throttle and at high RPM. EVERY run is measured. If you go over 90 you get a warning. Over 93 and you DNF. DNF in 3 consecutive events and the car is gone for a full calendar year. The third site has a limit of 103 decibels. I only have to worry about the first 2 sites as my truck has never run higher than 95 decibels before.

Vids! NOW!

Eh I would be running cones today but a leaky timing chain cover is keeping me from it. Oh well, SCCA is 2 weekends away.
