If he'd been going sideways, could we consider that a... snow drift?

Go ahead, take your confidence with you while you go drive in the snow then spin and nail a curb. I was in the same boat as you before the last snowfall here in mass. i drove through snow storms with a good 2ft of snowfall no prob all winter. All it took was one sketchy downhill and a little too much speed and WHACK right into one of those nice solid snowbanks with about 2 feet of ice in the middle. you will learn one day grasshopper. you shall learn. But damn just when you dont wanna go THAT sideways is when you get some killer angle until you are stopped by said snowbank lol.

I haven't had bad luck in my 240 in the snow. Then again, its not slammed. I prefer it to FWD in the snow, but saying that RWD is better than AWD in the snow is retarded.

I've driven in snow up to like 5 inches in my car WITH ice under all the snow. (they don't plow/salt the roads in the state i live) and most of your guy's cars have monster truck wheel gap and all season tires which makes it alot easier.

In college I drove my slammed, gutted S13 hatch all year round. With a welded diff. I live in WI and I dont need to talk about inches of snow with anyone. I hated it. I never truely got stuck, but some side roads took forever to go one block. Now I still have a slammed S13 for fun, but man do I love my quattro Audi in the snow. World of a difference.

Went up snowboarding a couple months ago, 0 snow on the way up there. Got up the next morning to hit the mountain and over 13 inches of snow had fallen that night. Lets just say that was not a fun trip down the mountain.

I don't think i would ever drive my s14 or my tbird in the snow if i didnt have to. That's what the 4wd 4runner is for.

Say no to rwd in the snow!

I drive my 240 every winter, and sure as hell not out of choice. Toss a shovel in the back seat and there is no where i can't go. I would take an AWD fo sho fo sho fo sho if i had one. Its not that i hate the 240, but its aggravating. Some jerk off comes flying the other way in his 3ft lifted wrangler, driving down the middle of the f*cking road so my little 240 has to get over and get stuck until i dig it out cause the snow is higher than my (stock height) bumper. Get your damn truck over to your lane and leave me a little of the already-driven-on-snow. And the people that drive slow or stop on uphills. Thanks *sshole, now i can roll backwards all the way down the hill and try again.

Huh? I couldn't hear you over the sound of your FN01's, angled fartcannon, drift stickers and carefully-placed tow-hook mascot. ;)

A big +1 to ANYPLACE that gets snow and doesn't salt the roads. :dblthumb:

You are the reason 240 owners get a bad rep. LOL you may be able to drive in the snow... most people can. It doesn't make your car a better choice than an awd. You can take a 240 offroad but it doesn't mean it will do better than a jeep. (unless you are Ian in his bad a** rally car). RJ I like your tails I will buy them if you want to sell them. :)

LQTM... AWD owns in the snow, and understeer simply means a lack of throttle... My scooby surely doesn't understeer in the snow, and matter of a fact, has very little body roll for being stock. Besides that, with how easy 240's rust, why bother driving it in the snow unless it's already a rust bucket?

Blame it on the medication. ;)

By the way, there's nothing too terribly impressive about being able to pilot a RWD vehicle in snow. I rode a V-Max (look it up) back & forth to school and work in rain and a couple light snows. NOT the vehicle for wet weather. :tisk:

You call that little a** inch of snow on the road impressive???

This is my dad after about that much snow in your picture had melted:

Thats what I drive my 240 around in. However, I would much rather drive something AWD in that weather, anyday.

The one time there was a little ice spot on my sloped driveway and I tried to get the car out to take it to the exhaust shop and I couldn't.

Then I stuck a flute

i HATE driving my car in the snow... Illinois had a record snowfall about a month ago. I hit a curb and had to pay 245 + tax to get all my ish realigned.. driving a rwd in the snow is just plain dumb and should be avoided if possible.. This thread isn't gonna be on topic much longer if it isn't off already lolz.

Honestly, they aren't that bad with snow tires.

With my 205 60 15 Goodyear Ultra Grips, I could spin 5th easily.

With my 185 65 15 Nokian Hakka R's (Best ones in the market), I couldn't spin second, just barely, and sliding my a** around corners was impossible. With the Goodyears, the rear end would kick out sometimes under heavy decel. With the Nokians, I shifted from 4th to 2nd and dumped the clutch, the car DID not shift lock.

No extra weights in the trunk, stock spare and jack with tools, and a DC Sports Upper Strut Bar...which adds nothing.

Just shows how much good snow tires can do, kept up with an AWD WRX, it had stock wheels and stock size all seasons.
