The big badge described as a "belt buckle" is actually a really intricately detailed piece... the design is based on someone's kamon (Japanese family crest), but I forget who.Haitian_King wrote:That picture gives me an idea. I think I'd like to remove the belt buckle from a 90-93 and affix it to high grade leather. I'd sell them as belts. Forget the overpriced adjustable strap cap that you get from the dealer, imagine that logo.
Especially since Infiniti's don't have that particular badge anymore. I wonder who designed it. What sort of vegetation is that in the background of the belt buckle?
Interesting to know. How do you know this? Tidbits of info like that make me appreciate my Q more and more.lino wrote:

It also may have something to do with Japanese samurai.
the w126 was my dads until 8mos ago he had it new and did zero maintence except oil changes until 168k where he had the top end rebuilt and the spyder fuel dist. replaced, chains and guides etc.i took it in rough shape and dumped $10k into it including an interior i got out of a 91 (black ) and $1,000 in sterio stuff, $2,000 to get a/c working$1,000 set of 17x8.5" 20 year old lorensors from londonand painted bottom half to match top color.there is still a slight stumble at idle. ( going to old school benz mechanic in a week or 2 when i get my Q back from body shop) = rubbed someone @50mph. and replacing my hood (f'ed it up yrs ago)also have to install my first gear start module. The benz is a finely built automobile, i enjoy driving it.and it is getting a new windshield 2morro(old pitted to hell)MY Q is not like a stocker its very beasty in torque and suspension.i love both cars very much, and both built so well.put billstein hp's and h&r springs but still a bit soft 4 me adding rubber spacers in springs.ihave half my garage filled up with benz parts from this project which includes my old interior.would love to pilfer your leftover parts jamescaptainluigi wrote:
thx James, i kinda guessed that from removal attempt. think i would prefer the modded liturgical symbol of the fish w/legs&feet. DARWIN WAS RIGHT!
James, please give me your opinion on build quality on your SEC vs Q45. how long have you owned SEC. i have some various used & new W126 & SEC specific parts in storage. no longer need. cane Wilma floated my SEC away. will send these off to you when i can access them.

I've done that exact thing a couple of times when I had to take her down to San Diego at Jerry's. I've also, taken the bus from my house to the amtrack station here in LA and then to San Diego.qship96 wrote:Excuses,Excuses.Excuses........Here is a SOLUTION for you...drive your time-bomb ticking Q to the repair shop....and heres the really great, unheard of part...have the car rental agent MEET YOU AT THE REPAIR SHOP..then you simply use the rental for the week.....AND DROP IT OFF AT THE REPAIR SHOP when you pick up your repaired Q- DUH
Even I was smart enough to drive from Maryland to Atlanta {slightly longer than the 40 minute drive you are whining about}, have a rental car meet me at T3,use the rental until my car was ready, then drop off the rental at t3 when my car was completed
Geez, you let the simple things derail you from reaching goals
Does the film go on the inside or outside of tail lamp lens? If it goes on the inside, how difficult is that install?jamesmost wrote:i debadged, filled the holes from infiniti emblem and covered in dark vinyl film fromhttp://www.stickercity.comhad to cut myself did side markers as well.it does look bad a**and sounds Bada**and is a beast of a naturally aspirated carJames
How many bumps in your spring pads? Are they the OEM ones or did you get new ones when you put in the H&R's?jamesmost wrote:
