I've done that exact thing a couple of times when I had to take her down to San Diego at Jerry's. I've also, taken the bus from my house to the amtrack station here in LA and then to San Diego.

Excuses,Excuses.Excuses........Here is a SOLUTION for you...drive your time-bomb ticking Q to the repair shop....and heres the really great,unheard of part...have the car rental agent MEET YOU AT THE REPAIR SHOP..then you simply use the rental for the week.....AND DROP IT OFF AT THE REPAIR SHOP when you pick up your repaired Q- DUH

Even I was smart enough to drive from Maryland to Atlanta {slightly longer than the 40 minute drive you are whining about}, have a rental car meet me at T3,use the rental until my car was ready,then drop off the rental at t3 when my car was completed

Does the film go on the inside or outside of tail lamp lens? If it goes on the inside, how difficult is that install?

new h&r and billsteins and all related partsgot the rubber spacers from Summitt racing like $12 eachhave not installed yet but know someone who has and loves itthey are actually designed for dead springs to wake then up w/o having to replace.

Are the ones you bought from Summit different than the oem Mercedes pads? I believe the W126 oem pads for the front come in 4 sizes from 8mm-23 mm and the rear come in 3 sizes from 9.5mm-19mm.

lino i think we r talkin about 2 different things.

MB makes spring shims/cups (metal) goes between bottom of spring and spring seatthay i purchased from summit goes between the lower coil, and creats a higher spring rate not taller ride height.

Much respect for both the W126 and E28...... and James....Wes' car may not hand out a seat belt to him, but he knows how to use one.

The big badge described as a "belt buckle" is actually a really intricately detailed piece... the design is based on someone's kamon (Japanese family crest), but I forget who. It also may have something to do with Japanese samurai.

Here's an up close of the belt buckle for you 94-96 owners. I wonder what these cost today to buy new? Come to think of it a pair of them would look very nice on the gal in Lino's pic.

That would jumpstart a marketing campaign for sure.

See how nicely it's designed? After lino told me it's called a "kamon" I Googled the term. I couldn't find anything on who designed this one or even what it was exactly though. I did learn a ton about kamons and their history.
