Okay, this is starting to pi$$ me off. MODERATORS, just because you dont agree with all this whinny gripping, doesnt mean you should lock the darn thread!

Now instead of one whinny a$$ thread there are at least three. Four if you count this one.

I dont give a darn about Palmer,Tino, or K-Car. The whole situation is bad. Life is a bummer, aint it. But this locking of threads is bull.

I came from the ORG back before the switch. It was a great site. This has become even better. If you keep this thread locking you are gonna be loosing members. I have never fussed about anything on this site. But this is getting stupid.

I dont want anyone to reply to this. I just want the moderators to read it, and take it to heart. (I dont mind if you lock this one. I just didnt want it attatched to K-Cars post.)

Tru tru...:pface

The thing with locking is that threads that dont contribute to the subject of the given forum will be locked (or moved to a better fitting one).

We usually let off subject posts stand, because most of them are harmless or even fun but the same cant be said for this one.It doesnt really matter with what we agree or not a negative thread alwasy stands a good chance of being locked or deleted.

We are one of the most liberal car forums out there and you see SO MUCH less, locking and deleting of threads here than on any otehr forum of comparable size+activity.

it wont because it's clearly fun for our members and most of us listen to those songs in our cars.

I'm going to reply, so tough luck.

Moderators here do a good job of locking posts. What's the point of having 6 page threads with people swearing back and forth? Keep locking those lame arse threads! No one really cares about arguments anymore. Off topic threads are fine, but threads with "drama" need to be deleted and never spoken of again.

Ninja and myself got into it awhile back, didn't we...lol??

But the thing is we both were mature about the situation in the end and we worked things out like adults or at least in a kind fashion.

People won't always agree with people on these forums, and it may even be about the stupidest things. The thing we need to do is agree to disagree!

For any one who is reading this for now on do yourself and NICO a favor "because NICO has done alot for you!" and if you have any problems with anything, please contact a mod or admin. offline and we will do our best to help. Have a great night.

Huh... the problem is, you are deaing with a 95%+ male population. Most of us are too concerned with "saving face" to take a spirited debate into a private discussion. When one's intellect or pride has been insulted, he often feels the need to regain stature by letting the rest of the 'pride' see his retort. It really does boil down to an 'alpha-male' scenario... sad as that sounds.

BUT... in some instances (not mentioning any particular recent debacle) it is in the best interest of the community to see what is in dispute. regardelss of who's side one might take, it is better to see BOTH sides and make one's own judgements.... instead of having the happy-smiley facade telling you everything is going to be okay people.... move along... nothing to see here....

As far as the first part....I don't see the point of taking an arguement to private conversation either (but for different reasons). What is the point of fighting if no one is watching?

(back to the subject) I would much rather read and post in the kcar thread in GENERAL chat than i would some useless fluff like "what kind of music." it annoys me to great leangth that pilgrims like Fred are deciding what we should read and enjoy. Argument (not "fighting") is neccesary for one side to be persuaded to the other, so locking these threads just keeps things as they are. (its obvious there are some tensions here in nico) Funny how we all bieleve in freedom of speech UNLESS its in nico. On that token Fred and his prude arse lovers (tino, ninjak) can kiss my a$$, no matter what you censor you still suck :)

If you lock one whinny thread, two will take its place. And the regular threads will have post in them that should have been in a thread that has gotten locked.

Just wanted to make the Mods aware, that locking only makes stuff like this worse, not better. Makes them look like the bad guys, whether you are or not.

To heck with this. Anyone heard any good jokes?

Your freedom of speech is a myth - Kill Your Idols.

I can't agree with you more 89. God forbid we say that the mods made a mistake in demoting K (OMG!! lock this now...). K threw a hissy fit for a reason, and he proved his point.

Although Tino is useless, he really didn't do anything to escalate this situations, its predominately the moderators (and in specific Fred's fault). Really, my grandmother is liberal than you people.

Funny how you have all the time in the world to deal with the "backlash" by locking threads, ect, but you couldn't take the time to talk to K directly, or shoot him an e-mail before hand. Did anyone even tell him when he initially gained moderatorship that he needed to clean up his act? Or did someone just tell someone to tell someone else to relate the message to K??

Another thing. On this freedom of speech subject. You have to remember this is a private club (that anyone can be a member of.) I under stand that this isn't Burger King, You can't have it your way. I can see the reason for deleting certain post for profanity or just generally being an A$$.

I am greatfull for this site and the NICO group in general. I think the Mods do an over all good job.

Apex - I'm gonna enter this debate once and only once, so read carefully. I'm sure this thread won't remain around long.

1) Fred did NOTHING on his own. The mods were unanimous (except one). We voted. Get over it.2) We did - He chose to ignore not only our guidance but apparently Dauntt's as well. Get over it.3) Yes - Very clearly. That was a condition of his "Jr. Mod" status.4) Dauntt accepted full responsibility for K's behavior as a mod, as he sponsored his "promotion". Unfortunately K let him down.

Let me add this: I like K-Car - I enjoyed his posts for the most part. I gave him props on the board on more than one occasion. I don't recall him ever reciprocating to others, and that's unfortunate.

I understand you guys feel like something was taken away from you. But K is still welcome to remain part of this community - That can't be any clearer. He's incredibly knowledgeable. He's just not mod material, so why the tantrums?

Doesn't have anything to do with Infiniti owners, 240 owners, whatever. I pop in here from time to time (OK, daily:D) and I think I've earned a certain measure of respect among the 240 "mob". I cherish that respect, because it doesn't come easy. I enjoy this place, as sometimes the Infiniti forum gets stuffy - But you are ALL welcome over there to liven the place up (matter of fact, you'll find some GREAT technical info from some of our people who are Infiniti Master Techs as well as old racer-types who have a WEALTH of knowledge).

All of you must keep this in mind - No one person is bigger than what you ALL have contributed to creating here.

*KCar, if you read this, you are a valued member of NICO. One of over 6,000 others.

If you decide to stay away, you will be missed. But these guys will get good, solid technical advice all the same. If you return, no hard feelings (I'll personally see to it) and you'll be welcomed back.
