Love the shoulders/haunches on my 94 Q... especially when I'm looking in the side mirrors at the traffic disappearing behind me.

I love being able to turn off the traction control.

I also dig the storage in the rear passenger center armrest.

94 Q45t Pearl White w/17" Mille Miglia Spiders. (Owned it for two weeks so far and loving every minute of it)

I like the way that my 98 QX4 is so underpowered and slow that I can't possibly accelerate into trouble...

I love the leather looking dash because it is so unique and will stand the test of time. Looks alot like the dash in the new Mazarrati. Also, love the look of the shoulders, but especially with the "T" spoiler. Looks very masculine to me. Love the solid fluid power and sound.

For me, its these:

- the storage area in the rear center pull-down arm-rest.

- the small sun-visor above the rearview mirror.

- the "look-down" on the outside mirrors when reversing.

- the "look" of the analog clock.

- the inflating (?) lumbar adjustment in the driver seat.

- the storage space in the rear deck.

- the wonderful serif'ed font used in the gauges (very legible letters!).

- the automatic raising of the steering wheel when exiting (although I do not like the seat going back - crunches people in the rear if they do not watch out.)

- the dual-memory of the seat/mirror settings (I think I have finally gotten my wife to "press 2" rather than manually move the seats and mirrors when she drives my car.)

- the 1 mph increments/decrements per button press on the cruise control system.

- the precise speed holding on the cruise conrol - does not "search" for the speed.

Of course, I have my pet peeves too, but that is another thread! :)

The only paint jobs I've consistently noticed to be nicer have been on late-model Mercs, but absolutely no other car I've seen of the same age comes close. My father, who visits only once a year or so, recently asked me if I had the car painted. Even next to brand new $40-50k SUVs, it's pretty obvious which vehicle has the better finish.
Actually the paint job on all infiniti's are unique to the model itself, the J30 will not have the same silver color as the Q45. They have a standard of that for every model, they also have a 9-step paint process which gives them a lifetime quality to them. My mom has a Q with silver color just like mine but you can tell they're not the same, her's has what looks like a purple tint to it. So no matter what car you compare to an Infiniti, it will never match up the same.

Things I love about my 90 Q:

-The integral/ajustable driver's seat center armrest. It's always where it should be no matter what the size of the driver or how far forward or back the seat is positioned. This should never have been changed.

-The instrument panel - it could be improved but I've never seen better. The curve and sweep, the arrangement, the gauges, airvents, etc. Just great design. AND, best of all, no TV screen. I just don't like the current me-to instrument panels cramming more and more unneeded controls onto a screen. I just want to adjust the air conditioner or the stereo, not play pinball. I haven't seen ONE that works - MB, BMW, Lexus or Infiniti. They're all an ergonomic mess.

-The almost inperceptible stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob. Every other car I've seen (including the never Infiniti's) have a cruder, bumpy stitch pattern.

-The overall quality of materials - inside and out. Everyone who sees my car is amazed that it's 12 years old.

-The looks. Nothing else like it on the road. Clean, modern, understated, elegant, timeless. I just wish Nissan had done as Lexus did with the LS/Celsior. Evolutionary styling and design improvement, not lurching from one thing to the other. I keep imagining what the current Q would look like if Infiniti had stuck to it's guns and evolved a higher, wider, sleeker Q based on the Nissan President, not the cheaper Cima. I can only hope the next Q is just that as the President can't go on much longer in Japan.

There's more but I'll stop now.

old thread but my GF noticed something last night in the J that I've never noticed before. On the Bose head unit with head lights on the number's on the unit are illuminated when the radio is on, but when a CD is played or a tape, the numbers turn off and the functions light up. Pretty cool.

I like everything about it. But namely I like the headlights. Yeah its weird, but they are so much brighter than the healights on all my GM cars. I like the smell, it smells like a new car, but even after 120k it smells like a new car. I like the ajustable headrests, i dont think that was a common option in 1994. I like the color of mine, i have yet to see one with the color i have. I like the looks, it looks better than some late model cars on the road now. They are also so distincitive, you can see a car and know its a Q from a mile away. They are also not too common in my area.

The only thing it doesnt have that i wish it had was automatic headlights. All my other cars have this feature, and i was surprised to see that my Q didnt have this.

They are standard on all 1994-1996 Q45s.
