That's how I feel whenever I sign up for a new forum. You don't know anybody, or where any of the cool places to hang out are, and there's NEVER a rooftop pool.

Anyway. I'm the new kid in class. Just thought I'd say hi.

I've got a 99 frontier that's my daily driver, and 3 other suzuki projects, but I found this site since there's the possibility of picking up an altima with a blown engine for cheap, and good replacement engine for cheaper. I somehow ended up with a turbo kit for the ka24de engine, so what the hell... I'll have some fun with it! I'm not going for anything crazy. I'd be more than happy runnin 7lbs on the stock system.

that's about it for now! I see the big red flashing SEARCH button up there, so I'll be sure to put that to good use.

see ya around!

This is a great site. Tons of tech across the board and very well laid out. I really like how there's different area's not only for chassis and model type but also for engine, miscellaneous tech, and probably one of the most diverse for-sale sections I've ever seen! I'm almost tempted to say it's TOO organized! ;) Regardless, I've got lots of exploring and reading up to do, so that'll keep me quiet for a bit. What I've read so far has been pretty surprising in regards to the amount of power being made from some of these engines.

Anyway...
@MinisterofDOOM... Yup. I've got 2 Samurais, and a Tracker. They're incredibly easy to work on, highly modifiable, and pretty tough little things. I had no idea when I got my first one. I just figured I'd buy a 4x4 beater to take on the beach.

@93coupe... It's a pretty nice place to live. I found this town by accident and moved here from Jersey. After being here 2 years, I decided I liked it enough and bought a workshop/garage with a detached house. ;)

@AZ89two4Tsx... I will definitely be reading that section through completely.

@everyone else... Thanks for the greets! And the mat. (that was a nice touch.)

I'm not sure you'd want to see pics of all my vehicles.

The fronty is an all black extended cab, with strategically placed paint chips, tree sap, and dents to maximize wind resistance (and reduce theft). The entire underside of the car was meticulously covered with oxygenized steel, for weight reduction of course. Mud flaps are cracked and broken... for brake ventilation. And my most recent modification was to rip down the sagging headliner... because it was just plain annoying! ;)

The tracker is torn apart right now. The engine spun a bearing so that's getting a rebuild and the interior is getting completely refreshed so it's all ripped out.

The 88 Samurai is sittin on a 2" body lift, and 2" lift springs in the rear. The engine has low compression, and the carb runs so rich the crankcase stinks of gas after I drove it for 5 minutes. That engine will be replaced with as much of a N/A beast as is possible for these engines. 1.6l block (as opposed to the 1.3 it comes with), new internals, lightened crank pulley, ported head with enlarged valves, high lift cam, chevy small block valve springs, adjustable cam gear, and a weber 38 carb. It won't rev as high as the original 1.3, but it should be able to lay down a good deal of power when all done.

The 87 Samurai is bone stock. Except for the fuel injected 1.6l 16 valve engine I put in. Stock samurai has about 55hp. This engine puts out about 98hp. They're not big numbers, but they don't have to be since these things only weigh about 2300lbs.

:)

(maybe I'll post some pics later...)
