I had a little bit of time on Saturday so I went to the shop and did a few things to the Q. First thing was to install my Jackson Autosport's R50 Missing Link which dramatically helped with body roll. Next thing was to polish my headlights because they've been looking like garbage. 3rd on the list was to troubleshoot my driver's side headlight. It's been going out when hitting bumps which usually indicates the switch but that was replaced not too long ago. Luckily I had an extra ballast so I swapped that out and it seems to have fixed the problem. 4th was to figure out how to read the ATF dipstick. For some reason I can't figure this out. I'll post up some pics tonight.

You said 3rd twice, as well the underlined statement has some minor grammatical errors. It is still legible however and I am happy to hear you have been able to find the time to work on your vehicle from installing the missing link to using some spit shine on your headlights.

Not trying to be a d!ck or anything.

That's what happens when you post from your phone and don't double check your work. I'm proud of you for picking up on those mistakes. I'm also elated to see that you're staring to learn grammar. Did you get that book I recommended? Now we just need to get those blue LED washer nozzles off of your hood and a GED in your pocket.

If you had stayed with the thread (which you did) Im sure you would have read the part where I ended up NOT installing them. And yes actually, I did get that book you recommended, it's a great fire starter.

I think you should have stayed with the Rotor thread as well and try to preach to all of us as to how Rotors warping = myth. I would have enjoyed learning from you.

It bolts up in between your lower control arms with the factory bolts. You'll see it in the pics and they shipped to me in so-cal just fine.

I gave up because explaining something to you 4 times is just not worth the effort.

Or was it the fact that everyone was against you on your statement saying "Rotors do not warp, the surface just becomes uneven" ......... Meaning..... WARPED :gotme

To adress number 4, on the ATF dipstick, the hot fluid range should be within the cross-hatched space . The cold reading should be between the two indentations on the dip stick itself.

Here's the Missing Link Bar

Here's the 3 stage acrylic polish I used for the headlight housings and some before/after pics. Different sides but they both looked the same.

That missing link bar thing looks rather interesting.
I've never seen or heard anything about this type of add-on before.
What exactly does it do?
Can it be fitted on an AWD Pathy?
Etc., etc.

Yep, the missing link is 40 bucks powdercoated, and will fit on a 4wd pathy...this whole topic has been discussed over on NPORA. I highly suggest to those of you who are not members over there to join. Its free and all new product info such as these missing link as well as a possible strut tower brace are also discussed over there...another thing you would not know about til someone posted it over here....so do yourself a favor and join up, I will even post a link to the forum.

Hey thanks EmptyV, after seeing that you got a missing link, i went over to npora to see what it was, and was convinced that it will help the drive through the santa cruz mountains enough to get it, now im just waiting for the order to reach my doorstep.

not to thread jack or go off topic, empty v your q is 2wd, how much weigh does the 4wd system add to the path/qx4, because i think without the 4wd your q is definetly quicker than a 4wd one,

also have you ever ridden in one that has 4wd? how much different is the steering response and stuff, i remember i was on safecar.gov, and it said the 2wd model had a higher rollover rating risk, im guessing cause the 4wd adds more weight that is low center of gravity.

Email John Jackson @ [email protected] and he'll send you a paypal request for $50 Canadian. Paypal automatically does the currency conversion. So far I've notice a fair improvement in body roll. Going around corners is fun again!

The only R50 I've ever driven is the one I own so I can't attest to the differences. Sorry brutha.

Im pretty stoaked lol!!

Ive raced my buddy in his 03 3.5L pathfinder 4wd in my 01 qx4 2wd and I put 3-4 car lengths on him by 90mph. His is stock with an air intake, Mine only has intake, full exhaust

Ive driven his on the highway and its not that the car really is slower, but when you floor it, it just doesnt react the same and downshift as quick, shift points seem a little sooner and not as quick... maybe its just because I can hear my exhaust in mine and his is quiet

the reason his shifts are slower and theres more hesitation when you floor it, i had the same thing on my path, and then i did the intake airbox mod, and the hesitation right when you punch it is gone. And our path exhaust it restrictive so that definetly helps you out too.

Empty,
Nice thread and thanks for the info on the Missing Link. Ordered one today, it comes out to $51.15 US dollars shipped to the States. John Jackson emailed me info about it immediately. Rare these days. Seems like a great product at a decent price.

I have that Novus plastic polisher somewhere in the house. Forgot all about it, will give it a try. Remember getting small scratches out of my cell phone display with it.
