Light problems?

I just bought a 1993 1180sx with a blacktop sr20.The car runs great but the person who had it before me did a permanant sleepy eye mod that I hate. Any ideas on how to undo it ? I'm pretty sure that he jut disconnected the motors.But the head lights only work as high beams and idk why.Also the tail lights don't work but the brake lights do.And the dash lights don't come on, maybe faulty wiring. Any suggestions ?

I would look up the how to do sleeps eyes and then reverse the instructions. Hopefully it helps.

If not please open check "The Ultimate sticky" located at the top off the 240 forums and download the FSM's EL section. Sounds like cut wires / botched job.

Yea thanks the motors are still wired so I think they cut them somewhere but my 180sx fuse sticker from under the dash is all torn up so I can't read itbut I went through every fuse in my car and none of them are badso I have no idea why my dash and tail lights don't workI know there on the same circuit but I can't figure it out.Help?

I had the same problem with my dash lights and parking/running lights not working. I found out that the light switch (contacts) goes bad at times. Swapped a used one from the junkyard... and voila. If all your fuses are good, then chances are the light switch is bad. You can try to repair it, but it's PITA.

I don't like the sleepy eye mod. Look up the headlight circuit in the 180sx FSM, and trace the wiring, and put it all back together. Search for the FSM, here on Nico. Not too sure if the wiring is the same as the 240sx. If so, look up the 240sx FSM.G/L

Thank you everyone now all of my lights are working all I have to do know is scrap some stok headlights brackets out of some other 240hopefully..And does anyone know where ou can order a 5 speed sr trans that doesn't grind second lol?

Find a ka trans, and swap your sr bellhousing on to it.
