just wondering, if you buy a front clip when doing to TT swap, is this a pretty easy thing to do? it seems like it would include everything you need. i hear it's difficult, unlike in, say, a 240SX.

Alot of front clips dont come as full clips anymore, due to shipping many vendors are just shipping the mechanical parts on pallets. This means no dash, steering wheel or column, or dash harness. Even if you get those, you need to swap the dash harnesses due to door switches, you need to get door panels, and then swap everything that goes along with the doors! Panels are about $200 each plus shipping. and the dash harnesses are wired differently on rhd models so you have to cut and splice!! not to mention all of the fire wall and engine bay mods that you have to make! I thought about doing it to my RBZ due to the fact I have a clip I have from an NA to TT swap im doing for a friend, but in the long run imho its really NOT worth the effort. but thats just my .02

wow. that is a lot. that source that told me it was difficult was definitely reliable. i guess i just wanted to know why. he said it's a lot easier on a 240sx. which may be why he did it on his old S13 lol. thanks for the answer.

the swap is not that complicated if you have all the proper tools and a good front clip.as far as door switches and electrical, you just have to have patience and knowledge of electrical. I have done numerous LHD-RHD STEERING SWAPS(MAINLY RX-7'S AND A FEW NISSANS)and YES IT IS WORTH IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU SEE EVERYBODY BREAKING THERE NECKS WONDERING WHO'S DRIVING THE CAR,UNTIL THEY SEE CLEARLY

Does it have a "Cool Factor"... Yes. Does it make you go faster?... NO! its alot of work to do in a Z, trust me I almost went through with it. I am an ASE cert. tech. with any tool I need, I could easily undertake the project, but its alot of time and work for just having the "Cool Factor".

lazy, lazy, lazy.people like you really don't understand what it is to have a project that not many people can have or even afford.I love challenges, and that's what I do,for at least 18 years now.build cars fom the ground up when neccessary.Iam an old mechanic and car builder.for those folks that complain that a conversion is hard, better stay to bolt on vehicles to make your life simpler(for instance honda & acura lovers)

That being said.... i get tons of random people talking to me when they pull up next to me.

People like me huh? Come see my collection, I've done quite a few projects over the years too! I've built alot of cars... Yes I said its hard, is that why I didnt do it? NO! I didnt do it because it doesnt make me go faster or handle better! Just cause you sit on the right doesnt make your car any cooler than mine. Check my current Z32 project, I'm doing an RB swap... How easy do you think that is? If sitting on the right does it for you then by all means go for it. I was just telling you whats involved. I'm no complainer, I'm interested in speed and performance, not what side of the car I sit on! So Periferal can pound sand for all I'm concerned.

WHT DON'T YOU POUND ON THIS. MY POINT EXACTLY, I HAVE A FEW VEHICLES THAT YOU WISH YOU CAN POUND ON(PISTON OR ROTARY,TAKE YOUR PICK.ANYWAYS, I DON'T HAVE TIME TO TO EXPLORE YOUR PERSONAL INTEREST, I JUST DON'T HAVE TIME TO ARGUE WITH ID^%@# THAT DISCOURAGE MY FELLOW EXPLORING ENTHUSIASTS.IF YOUR OUT FOR SPEED, PINKS IS COMING CLOSE TO YOUR TOWN SOON(YES PINKS)not the all out series. If interested I can easily set up a date to race you and take your projects, on live TV.Then will see who's into speed.I am always in ATCO RACEWAY(ENGLISHTOWN NEW JERSEY)$$$$$ OR PINKS.WHAT'S-UP.

He man, (periferal) Your the one that started knocking me for my opinion... I was just telling him whats involved in that swap. Also, I'm sure you don't have anything that I "wish I could pound on" LMFAO. sampsonj is right so I'm ending this arguement right now. Now, to JDMZ32, sorry to get of on the tangent in your forum. I told you whats involved in the swap, and I also have MOST of the parts to do it. If you do decide to do it you're more than welcome to the parts I have, and any advice or help I can give.

thanks! but like i said, it wouldn't be any time soon if ever. it would be at the same time as TT swap, which is, although definite, far away.

Hi,I actually want to go the other way around (convert my RX-7 RHD into a LHD). I was wondering if you knew where to get LHD parts or if, due to the fact that you've converted RX-7s from LHD to RHD, you could sell me LHD parts.Thanks.

Like sampsonJ said well it might be cool to say you have a rhd z it's simply not practical at all for a country that drives on the right hand side.

This is a great topic man, I just bought a front clip from CZP. It came with everything but headlights... It has hood, fenders, the entire dash, vents, O and best off all it still had the JDM key in the ignition.... But yea I wanted to do the right hand drive conversion but then it requires alot of fab work...

Turning left an passing arent that hard... you just have to learn to look around traffic on the rightside an judge the cars ahead of time

And just go into the drivethru backwards gauranteed to get an odd comment from the person at the window

I tried doing this because my driver side window is broken and they said if I didn't turn around they were going to call the cops.

Honestly 800 sounds like a pretty decent deal. Its not like these RHD clips are just floating around all over the place...
