It fits perfectly!!!!!...with S14, RB25, McKinney Motormounts

I was VERY impressed with the quality of this piece.

Only thing I had to do was bend this coolant line up 1/4 inch to clear the downpipe. This coolant may have been too low from the last time I took the turbo off too.

This pic shows how my stock elbow sat against the steering shaft and eventually dug into the side of it.

At the closest point, there's about 1/4 of clearence between the steering shaft and the DP.

Definately looks good crafstmanship wise. You said it is 1/4" away? Was that before or after you tightened it down? It looks a lot closer the that.

I never tighted it down that last 1/16. The bolt was now too long with that smaller flange. Plus, there was no gasket in there in those pics. But there's more than enough room to tighten it down with a gasket in there.

Yeah, the pictures are decieving, it's hard to show the gap. But I can almost fit my little finger in between the steering shaft and the DP, but not quite.

Looking at your stock pipe and the rub mark it had on it, compared to the pic of the new pipe. There is NO way that would fit my car.

***I may have a tweaked chassis***I have Top Hat mounts, SS Autocrap exhaust mani and a RB25 turbo.

I too my stock cast pipe, cut it flipped that piece inside out (concave) so it would make a nice little path for the steering shaft to pass.

Looks like I definetly have to go custom.Maybe I'll just leave it till I upgrade my turbo. (most likely)

I'm looking forward to hearing how much of a difference it made in performance. Have you driven the car after installation?

No I haven't driven it yet.I don't have new gaskets, plus I need to get my wideband O2 welded into the pipe before installing it permanently.

I'm excited to drive it too, because this pipe is WAY less restrictive than the factory R33 DP I was running.

Oh, and I live in Iowa and we have about 8 inches of snow on the ground right now. So I won't be driving it for a month and a half anyway.

Looks like everyone's having success with the downpipes. It's good to hear and I hope some we get driving feedback as soon as they're up and running!

Whoever has the turbo elbow/downpipe combo, is yours tapered down from the downpipe (3 inch) to like 1 1/2 inch?

It does taper. It is not 3" the whole way. It's like 2", then expands to 3" right before the wastegate tube joins the main tube.

It'll be best if you email Ande about the offical pricing of that cover.

Also it's metal and would dispute heat better than that pos plastic one.

Email him and ask.

I know he doesn't throw in the coilcover for free with it anymore though.

OMG...had the turbo elbow/downpipe installed today, what a HUGE difference!!

The shop where I had the swap at welded the stock dump pipe to sh*t so it can clear the steering shaft, so I basically had a 1 1/5" exhaust. Ever since the install today, the car is sooo responsive now (especially on the highway). I can easily spin the tires in 2nd and 3rd where as I couldnt before with the stock pipe. I have custom motor mounts and it cleared the steering shaft with no problem, and installed took about 3 hours from my mechanic.

Wow guys it really looks good! I'm real happy to hear it helped performance so much.

If anyone needs to order one, just email me at [email protected] and I'll hook you up. If you just email Ande I'm not sure if you can get the pipe at the same price.

Mack- email sent.

Where are you guys getting your turbo exhaust exit gaskets from? (the one between the turbo and the combo pipe? Or is the stock one on there still in pretty good shape?

Are these still being made? Can they be made with a 5 bolt flange to work with the internally gated gt30?
