so you prefer the ebay poly mounts over the nismos?zach-Ka wrote:Ebay>nismo The nismos are well worth it.
so you mean Nismo>Ebay...zach-Ka wrote:Ebay>nismo The nismos are well worth it.
thats the thing i dont like about the nismo is that they are still hollow like the oem mounts. but im sure they would be just fine for what im looking to do. hopefully not to soft.moulton712 wrote:peak performance red transmission mount is good. i have the black one and love it.
you can also find new nismo mounts on ebay if you look for about 120. and then if you want a little stiffer than that. fill the hole with can gasket maker and let dry for a week. even stiffer weld strapping on the driverside front of the mount.
That's not completely right.hai1206vn wrote:You shouldn't use the nismo motor mounts. See the transmission mount is urethane which is very stiff and stops most movement of the transmission, whereas nismo engine mounts are soft enough to allow the engine to twist a fair amount (visible).
With such a setup you have the transmission sitting virtually still while the engine tries to twist. Not good because these 2 units must twist together - they're bolted as one by the bellhousing
OTOH, if your engine mounts are stiffer than transmission mount there's no problem
I was kidding guys. I wouldnt cheap out on mounts.zach-Ka wrote:Ebay>nismo The nismos are well worth it.
O my... Cheap mounts are made cheap. dont get them.Solid mount = too much vibration IMONismo mounts are oem style but made wit a much stronger material. They are 30% to 40% stiffer than the stock mounts.finalgear wrote:^^^^^^that last comment made no sense, your original comment you said Ebay>Nismo then you proceeded to say Nismo is well worth it, then you come back in to say your just Kidding you wont cheap out on mounts?
