I have a pair of these and absolutely love them. The only ACTUAL driving I've done in them is a cannonball run and a track event, but they feel amazing for any kind of driving.

And even then all you do is screw a wider pedal on. Easy fix.

It took me a while to get used to heel/toe in the 240sx since the pedals are closer together than anything else I'd ever driven but I manage just fine after a bit of practice.

EDIT: And right now I'm sporting some Adidas trail runners because I have them.

You guys realize that that is illegal right? If you get pulled over the officer has the cognizance to notice that you are driving with no shoes on you can get that fine tacked on to the one you got pulled over for. I believe it's akin to a reckless driving charge.

Personally I have a pair of Tony Hawks that I picked up for $40 @ Kohls that work just fine for me, they are pretty much the same as the older Etnies. Even on long trips I keep my shoes on, sure the dogs get all stinky but I don't have to fumble around to put my shoes on when I have to stop for bathroom breaks or gas.

I've considered on picking up a pair of real driving shoes, but I'd feel like a dork walking out of the house with them on just to go for a spirited drive.

Adidas Sambas
Sambas FTW! They are a really comfortable shoe, I wear them daily and also when I get the chance to play indoor soccer. I want to get another pair in a different color

My kid wore the Dominator version of these... Thank God he was sponsored, we didn't have to pay for them... I think he had 4-5 pairs.

I don't see anything they make that would qualify as a good driving shoe, though...

Greg, I cant find a pic of these shoes anywhere. I will snap a pic of them when I get home. I actually have never seen another pair in the States. I bought them from the Dealer Expo back in '07....from the SiDi booth

They are very similar to their Vertigo Corsair race boots (except lacking some of the buckles and support like the boots and obviously a low top version), those are the boots I race in.

They make a general athletic shoe, mainly for sponsored riders to wear (hopefully on the podium) when they're not clipped in but still be seen with a pair of Sidis on their feet.

I own a pair of Simpson Chicanes.

They're great for driving and they're comfortable for normal everyday activities, like hanging off a swing...

lol, yea. I wish my foot was smaller though. If I could fit into a 12, I would snatch up 2 or 3 more pairs of these Raikkonen's right now as I love these shoes. I guess I'll have to wait till Puma makes size 13 Fernando Alonso's.

Yea I have massively wide feet and these shoes took a little breaking in. They're no narrower than your run of the mill piloti, but they will take a day or two to form to your foot correctly. Other than that, they're awesome shoes and I use these exclusively on long auto-x days or HPDE weekends, as I need something with a ton of comfort for long periods of time.

I dunno, I just did a search for Raikkonen Puma. My shoes look like those and I bought mine in Italy while visiting family in 2k8, so mine were more expensive, but the shoe is also outdated. The shoe was made to commemorate Kimi Raikkonen's World Championship with Ferrari in 07.

Floht -

I wish I had known... The local Ross Outlet store had a crap-ton of Piloti shoes in size 13 for like $15 / pair for a LONG time.

Too big for me.

EDIT: HOLY HELL. If that site is for real, I am SO buying you a beer. Those prices are insane.

LOL, I would have bought the whole store! Proper size 13's that fit well are never easy to find, but Piloti's (after a bit of walking around) fit like a charm.
