Not true at all, iv been using windows all my life. The first week it was hard but after that i fell in love.Beancooker wrote:Macs are garbage. If you are used to using a PC, you will never get used to a Mac. If you have never used any type of computer ever, Macs are probably cool.
All macs have right click. What made you think they dont?Beancooker wrote:But you don't have right click, which is bulls**t.
What made you think this? On my i book g3 i had everything replaced. my sisters boyfriend did it for me.Beancooker wrote:The worst part, is if you don't like say the processor, video card, sound card, etc... you can't take out hardware and install new. No upgrades.
Iv never had problems with viruses. When i first started using macs i wanted to make sure i didnt get any. So i asked everyone i knew that have been using them forever. They told me not to even worry about it, i would be wasting my money if i bought a virus protection. The people at mac tech told me the same thing.Beancooker wrote: Macs do get viruses. You're a fool if you believe otherwise. But the fact that 95% of all viruses are designed for PCs and not Macs make it seem like they don't get them. You're still vulnerable. I can send you one if you don't believe me.
No. They don't. Macs have command click. Which is retarded and useless. Most macs don't even come with 2 button mice STILL to this day. Command click is USELESS. The whole point of the mouse is to be NOT the keyboard. Having to use both to perform a simple function is stupid. Mice have come with two buttons for a very long time. My logitech mouse has SEVEN buttons. A new mac comes with a mouse that has ONE button. And no scroll wheel. Capital Fail.LeroyBrown wrote: All macs have right click. What made you think they dont?
Judging by the specific and accurate nature of bean's claims, I'd say he has, and didn't like it. Hence the reason he said he doesn't like them.LeroyBrown wrote:You should try mac for once.
Yeah there mouse has only one button. but didnt you know there touch sensitive. and the right button works just like a PC right button.MinisterofDOOM wrote:

Shouldn't have to - it's there for that reason. Stop being a Mac fanboy.LeroyBrown wrote: Yeah there mouse has only one button. but didnt you know there touch sensitive. and the right button works just like a PC right button.
ohhhhhh i get it you guys didnt go to the system preferences and set the right button under mouse options.
bro i dont want to sound like a ***. but you can copy and paste with the mouse. it works just like a regular old mouse. all you have to do is set the right click button under settings. because if you dont the right click will work just like the left click lol.Beancooker wrote:I have used Macs before. The want to add more memory, you use apple. hard drive, apple. Hell have they come so far as to let you use a different video card? I'm guessing you can upgrade your video card, to another apple card. That to me means they are worthless.
You can't copy and paste without using the keyboard. That means your mose is worthless IMHO.
You have never had a virus? I can send you one...
Look, we just have a difference of opinion. I will stop communicating before I ever use another Apple product. The only thing made by Apple that is in my house is my iPod. I used a Zune for two years, and love it. However my car came with the iPod interface, and it was too conviwnant not to buy one.
Don't get me started on iTunez.
Everything I feel about Apple, Maddox already said.
no you can run nvidia or ati the only thing you cant do is run generic brands. thats about all i know my sisters BF did all my stuff for me on mine.Beancooker wrote:It renamed a lot of my music. It will only sync with "My Music" which I don't want it to sync with. I want it to sync with the folder that I specify. It is a PITA to upload music that doesn't have a license. Itunez8 makes it easier, but it's still not as simple as Zune. I don't like a product trying to "nanny" my "sharing" music. It's not like I have a lot of "shared" music, but the few songs that I have, are not available for purchace.
Glad they finally made it so you can copy and paste. To me, Mac is like an olive. You taste it, and don't like it, you try it again, and it still leaves a bad taste. You don't try it after that, because no matter what the difference in the olive, it still has the same type of taste.
Plus, I build my own PC's. I build them cheap and get incredible preformance out of them. That is not an option which I don't like.

Can you upgrade to a video card of your chioce, or is it limited to Apple cards?
Do you have to buy a card that is specific to Mac only, or can you just plug any card into an express slot?
do you think i need a heatsink for my imac? should i try looking for one?Beancooker wrote:After a search, I answered my own question. You can run Nvidia and ATI, but only certain models that are made for Mac. You can't just pick which one fits your budget.
You can't overclock a Mac. Well you can, but not for a gain that is worth the risk, and good luck in finding a heatsink that fits. See, when Apple opens up and makes themselves compatable with the rest of the computing world, I will take another look at them. Until they open themselves to broader horizons, I'll stick with PC's.
Touch sensitive is NOT acceptable either. What does Apple have against a physical button that offers some tactile feedback? I DO NOT want a one-button "with touch sensitive right click" mouse. I want A MOUSE. A REAL MOUSE. That's A MOUSE. I want to plug in my $100 so-awesome-it'll-make-your-pants-disappear Logitech G9. But I can't.LeroyBrown wrote: Yeah there mouse has only one button. but didnt you know there touch sensitive. and the right button works just like a PC right button.
all the other logitech mouses work for the mac. so why wouldnt the logitech G9 work. i even looked up the info and everyone is using them on there macs.MinisterofDOOM wrote:

If you haven't overclocked it, you don't need it.LeroyBrown wrote: do you think i need a heatsink for my imac? should i try looking for one?
Yeah. There are no G9 drivers for Mac last I checked.LeroyBrown wrote: all the other logitech mouses work for the mac. so why wouldnt the logitech G9 work. i even looked up the info and everyone is using them on there macs.
my heat sink on my imac says 45 degrees and last night it said 135. i just dont want to mess up my computer at allBeancooker wrote:

You would probably have a difficult time finding one to fit your motherboard.
If you have a laptop, it's not really even an option.
im running the 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. my computer information temp saysBeancooker wrote:Something must be incorrect, or it is displaying in ºF, not ºC. If you were at 135ºC, (275ºF) your processor would have died already.
None the less, I'll look and see what I can find for you. What processor do you have. Or better yet, what socket does the Mac use? 775, AM2... That is the first question we need to answer. Then we can look for a heatsink.
Outdated is a bit of a stretch, considering that Macs were the first home computers with multi-core CPUs, the first home computers with 64-bit CPUs, the first home computers with a 64-bit OS...nnorton44 wrote:You buy a Mac, your just paying for a fancy case and outdated hardware
Certianly not outdated, just not as user friendly and upgradeable like a PC is. It's all modern components rolled into an eye appealing package - if you wanted to, you could get the same fancy case for your PC.nnorton44 wrote:You buy a Mac, your just paying for a fancy case and outdated hardware
Beancooker wrote:Download CPUz. I don't know if it will run or not. If so, it will give you deatiled info, like what socket your proc is using. From there we can find if they make a heatsink that is compatable with your mobo.
I think this reworked version of CPUz might work for a mac. http://netkas.org/?p=72
Post up the screenshot after you install and run it.
I am guessing that you have a socket 775, but I am not sure. It's zero hour here at work, so I'll look into this a little more when I get home. Probably around 5 or 6 pm.
im worried about my imac. so its my desktop lolBeancooker wrote:So I googled iBook G3. It is a laptop, correct?
If it is a laptop, there will not be an aftermarket heatsink available, at least not one that I can find.
If it's a desktop, then there may be hope.
