Thanks. I'm interested to see how these different options look under the coupe lens. I don't know that I will have all the options for the repainting on the coupe since they are red and you lose some of the detail, but I'd still like to see the chrome (since its a dull chrome, still reflective, but not mirror chrome), the silver, black (obviously the preferred choice), and white.

I'm surprised they all look good. I wanted to offer as many colors as I could since taste will vary, but I really didn't expect to like all of them. Especially since they all look good with the sedan stock paint scheme. I really wasn't expecting that.

If anyone can think of some other colors that would stand out against the red lens, let me know so I can add it to the list of to-do's this weekend.

One additional color I just thought of is to do the black transparent on the coupe tail so it retains the mirror chrome, but just makes it darker.

If you're gonna go that route, offering custom color matched paint, you may want to look into this.I use these all the time when I'm shooting paint for small stuff. The PSI in the can is about 30psi which is perfect for shooting 1 stage paint or even clear without it orange peeling.

Beats breaking out the compressor and the guns and cleaning the guns..yada, yada... ok I'm just lazy to clean 'em is all...

I wanted to get these out tonight, so here's the same five disks in a coupe tail to give you an idea of how the colors look when under the red.

Same order left to right as above: chrome, flat silver, dark silver, white, red.

I've decided to change LBC tails to all white so they will be nice and pink.

More tomorrow.

gli, about those wrong pointing triangles. you know how you on drivers side the turn signal is 4 4 3 2 1(rows of bulbs), what if you'd do either 1 2 3, or 1 2 3 2 to make it look like an arrow pointing in that direction.

i got most of the work done on lbc's evaluation pair this weekend, here's a bunch of photos along the way.

primed:

1st coat of black:

2nd coat:

3rd coat:

led fixtures unpainted:

led fixtures 1st coat of black:

test fit with the red lens after paint is dried. the turn signal covers aren't snapped in place yet btw.

although the first two tails in these pics are sedan tails, this gives you an idea of the 3 colors I'll be doing for the most part, silver, dark silver, and black. you can mix the colors of the housing and turn signal cover if you want to give a little more contrast in the tail.

LBC's tails are done, I'm going to keep them through the weekend to make sure everything is good and I can take a lot more pics and vids of them installed. The sealiing process went really well and these things are very solid. I'll try and do some pics tonight, otherwise definitely this weekend.

LBC ended up doing the all black with blacked out turn. I'm really liking the look of this instead of the triangle board. I'm definitely telling people to look at doing this option first.

resealed and ready to go, the wires sticking out are from the led board.

from the front, i still need to clean up the lens, but its looking good. you can also see where i've ended up doing the reflector. its really bright here due to the flash, but normally its pretty subtle.

and here's the back of the finished product. sealed, wired and ready to go.

pics and vids tonight and this weekend. these are looking really good.

gli liphon wrote:sorry for the lack of updates. i've been really busy trying to get the first pair of coupe and sedan lights done. i finished the coupe ones today, here's how they look on my coupe. and that ISN'T tint, i repainted the inside of the housing to gloss black with just a little bit of silver.

modded tail and stock tail comparison:

everything off:

headlights on:

closeup with headlights on:

brake on:

the turn signal is the inside ring, i can't really get a good pic of that with the still camera. i'll do a few videos in the next few days. the first sedan pair should be done this week too, it's very similar except the inside ring is amber.

let me know what you think.
i reallllyyyy like this...and this is really my first time looking at this thread.

so you are making these tails?? how much $$ would i have to fork over?

here's some really good pics from the dslr. i'll be doing some more night shots and videos this weekend, but some of these turned out really well. i definitely like this better than that triangle board.

these are the reverse leds that i'm including free with the preorders: with the puddle led in the background best pic of the night

i know some people had asked about my interior leds, here's a good shot of those.

and here's the 48smt amber turns off and on

lots more this weekend. oh and these have gone through the car wash test (all high power spray, no brushes) and there's no issues. i'm really excited for lbc to get these next week so he can check them out.

its the inner LED circle in this application, but you have a few options of what you can do with the turn signal.

Bina's correct... There are a few options available but turn signals are an added cost /option over and beyond the price. But it does come with the below diagram for people to learn and use who can not afford the turn signal option...

wow, looks good.i think, however, that the inner ring should come on with the braking, so it would make it more apparent to the idiot behind you that you are braking, rather than loosing a ring of red.
