For reference, here is the relevant portion of the owner's manual:

As you can see, my options suck. I either overscan painfully or shrink. The overscan is bad enough that I can't see menu bars or what ubuntu calls "panels" (which are basically the same as the taskbar in windows).

Edit: since you can't see the top of those columns, source is on the left and how it displays is on the right.

Whaddup Ry? Chad?

And that xkcd is flawless. This is still my favorite (but that just goes to show how much of a geek I am):

Or that we posted at the same time, a-hole. How goes it Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch? Is that, by any chance, what you call your family?

And Chad, did you read the associated text with that comic? "I recently had someone ask me to go get a computer and turn it on so I could restart it. He refused to move further in the script until I said I had done that." I love when they follow the script. I usually just tell them I'm rebooting or whatever and wander around aimlessly for the 2-3 minutes that it would normally take. As if it were a simple fix I wouldn't have figured it out. Though, I guess they need to cater to the lowest common denominator, but it sucks that I have to suffer because I'm that much smarter than the average bear.

F that ish. I don't wait. I give it 15 seconds, and then tell the support person my PC is God, that it's OC'ed and booting off an SSD, so Win 7 takes 15 seconds to boot.

You have no idea, man. We outsourced all of our I.T. services. You think the help desk is bad? Try being a project manager dealing with resources from 4 different companies who are all otherwise competitors but who are being forced to play in the same sandbox on your project.

Pointless as they never understand this. Like the average tech support monkey knows what overclocked means. Or what the benefits of an SSD are. They always try to explain things to me that I need to do in windows. And I'm like, yeah, doing that now and nothing's changing. It's just easier than trying to explain that I don't run Windows and what Ubuntu is.

Lou, you should find your nearest Bose store and go demo that videowave tv. If there was one close to me, I'd be all over it this weekend.

Check the bose site. They have listings of locations where they are selling the tv. I really want to go in and try to convince the salesman that he will get a sale if I can see some technical specs on the tv. I want to know refresh rate because I want to connect a blu-ray player to it at 1080p24 and have it display it natively (none of this 3:2 pulldown garbage). Without knowing how the tv compares to other televisions (especially since I can't demo them side-by-side), I will need this information or else I take my money elsewhere. Then I get to see how long it takes before they say they don't have and cannot get this information, so I need to shop somewhere else. I just want to hear that asking for specs is me being an unreasonable customer.

Dude, I want a legit review from you (even if it's short). I've actually read some reviews by audiophiles that claim it isn't as terrible as one might think. I'm still skeptical, and I wanna check it out to see how much time went into room design to make it the perfect environment for the product...

Can't. I have to work on Monday in Wisconsin. Normally I wouldn't spend my weekend there too, but we are going to the Packers/Dolphins game with the same company on Sunday. Luxo box seats ftw.

What kinda tv are you looking at Adam? Why not look at the specs for each of them on Crutchfield or Newegg?
