So, I replaced my cluster bulbs to LED and the corner ones won't light up, never have. Then Nissan isolated that area with plastic so light doesn't shine there from the other bulbs.
It makes the pictures on the corners look dim.

By looking through pictures on the Internet, it looks like all the S13 analog gauges are like this, the HUD lights up all the pictures perfectly.

WHY NISSAN WHY.

Maybe you need to clean up the contacts on the plastic sheet on the back of the cluster? Are you saying that there are lights that don't work?

Yeah, don't work.

You can see that bottom left corner.
It lights up the engine picture, all the other ones are not well lit.
But, if I keep the LEDs in there, it makes it light up the gas light when the engine is on.
If I swap it back to the original bulbs, the gas light turns off.

DINGUS!

Also, Razi, check the contacts, man. They get worn down and the exposed copper contacts either at the bulb or where the harness plug meets in the back get worn off or have dirt on them. OEM surplus should have the part you need should the former be the case!

I did a ninja edit. :gapteeth:

If I swap it back to the original bulbs, the gas light turns off. So I'm guessing the bulbs do something in the electrical circuit, but some funky voodoo magic with my gas light.

It's probably a resistance issue, since LEDs hardly have any... OR, that you fuel sender is malfunctioning and letting a really small amount of current to come through (more likely). That gas light does have it's own little cubicle in the plastic, right? Why not just keep it as a regular bulb and use the others as LEDs?

Yeah, the warning lights are in their own cubicles, and that mysterious bulb has it's own too.
I think I'm gonna have to stick the regular bulbs back in there.
I might cut one side of the mystery bulb's cubicle to let some more light in, the unevenness bothers me inside. :[

Now im confused, why do you have to change all the bulbs? You can't do just one?

Just wanted to do all of em at once.
I also found out.
The gas light's little warning light it's a tiny little bulb like the others!
That large "mysterious" bulb lights up, lighting up the Gas picture and the bulb.
Oi, I'm gonna leave it alone and stick my regular bulb back in there.
The other 3 I can keep. :D

Thanks though Dave!

The circles are the large bulbs I was replacing.
Image
The ones on the left and right have extra bulbs above them, I don't have those.
I think that's what's causing my extra dimness.

I might drop by the junkyard this weekend and pick some that go in there, hopefully that fixes some of it.

Mine says 40F01, no idea wtf these numbers mean.

Fack, the bulbs that go in those sockets are T5/74s.
