I'm not putting up pics of the car until it's done. I just decided, I don't want to jinx it!

Well the world has decided I'm not allowed to have nice things, so I really want to make it mine before it gets an introduction.

Kinda like how you wouldn't introduce your new GF to your friends until you had already hit it a few times...

Wait, people call things their GF WITHOUT already hitting it a few times? What is wrong with this world?

Well people have decided to date (I guess?) after doing it once or twice... I never really counted. When it's good it just, good?

I always hope I'm not getting with a chick that has fu*ked a couple different dudes that week.

Found a drive shaft with u-joints for 150. Rebuilt with only 15k miles on it. Love the mye28 forums.

Rebuilt means it has those clips that nobody uses or can use because your mechanic said it won't work.

Go to a different mechanic.

My mechanic is confusing. He's black. That's why it makes no sense. It's the proper drive shaft. I remember him saying something about it not having these rubber things on the ends. It's my mom's fault I'm so damn confused. She can't explain anything.

123k miles.
SE model
Sunroof

Splendid condition. The guy put the trim panel on the interior back in so all it could use is a new steering wheel.

90k miles
Cheaper and easier to fix than above
Faster

I think I might consider becoming a Mustang owner.

Those mustangs are a ton of work over 100K miles. I've worked on them before and those things just start deteriorating and falling apart.

That S14 is worth like $2500 max imo.

Yeah. He probably wont take 2500 for it. I'd rather take the Mustang. I mean they may need a bunch of s*** done to them, but parts are ALL over the place seeing as Ford made hundreds of thousands of them. Plus they are pretty simple to work on. American cars usually are.

You have only seen ones that were beat on heavily. The mechanical value of these things holds for a while.

The 240 is going to be a bit more simple than those Stangs. Especially being it's a 4.6, not the 5.0. And the S14 is OBD1.

Parts are all over the place for those, but from a reliability standpoint, the 240 beats it by a mile.

Yeah but that guy will NOT take 2500 for that S14. That's asking for 2k off. And I'd rather not get an automatic and have to deal with swapping trannies and s***. Thus I'm looking at that Mustang. There's a GT I was looking at too.

I worked on a 97 with 62K miles. It was on its second engine and I helped put in the second transmission. It was an automatic and driven by this dudes mom in our autos class. Half the exhaust hangers were falling off and a bunch of other crap was broken.

Maybe it was an exception to those cars, idk. But that thing was complete junk.

Read my post above.

How many 4th gens do you see with over 200K miles? I can attest to plenty of 240s, even ones that have been beat on.

A 200K Mustang on it's original drivetrain is almost unheard of unless it was babied all its life.

I see them all the time around here. Many of the kids who are in HS and college around here use them.

I think it's because all the mexicans are drag racing them out there in the desert...
