I was in quiet rage mode when I put my engine together and it still had a s*** idle and stumbling problem.
I imagined myself smashing the engine with a sledgehammer.

Then I calmed down and wrote down everything I replaced or diagnosed as okay and started trouble shooting things I haven't touched.

I once punched the side of a house that had a stucco exterior. Cut my knuckle open to the bone. No one ever see's me get that angry though, and I have never laid a hand on a person in those states.

this won't happen for any time in the near future... but i'm thinking of changing auto x classes and doing a torquey KA24e-t build

if i were to do upgraded internals to handle the boost... lifters and all that to make it rev to 7k or so.... put a tune on it that won't explode but still be on the edge (E85 or even leaded race fuel are fine)... basically a race engine only build but something not $$$$$ out the a**

what kind of numbers could i expect?

I understand, more than you will ever know. It's all good. Wish I could help you but wiring is not my forte. I'd be kicking anyone that walked by and cussing a blue streak.

So far, all the budget oriented builds I've seen done, cost around $2.5k. Mine included, but I bought a brand new turbo so that bumped it up to $3k.
Once you start putting in upgraded internals, with machine shop costs, expect costs to go up about another $1k.

How much power are you looking to make? The stock internals can take about 300ft/lbs of torque, from then on the rods start bending.

I'm not all the sure on building KA-E heads though, I've never looking into that.

Want me to delve deeper into anything else? I only just layed down some basic ish I'd tell other people when we're at meets or w/e.

Yup. I swear a lot as it is. Grew up around carpenter's on job sites. I have screamed f*** as loud as I possibly can multiple times today, while the neighbors kids were outside haha.

I was taking out my alternator to get it checked as a precaution, and the bolts felt like they were welded on. I finally got it to turn and my hand flew off the wrench and hit a bolt. I let off a string of obscenities like you wouldn't believe.

All good now though. Going to a chicks house in a couple minutes, so I'll be good soon enough.
