I don't want to get into a religious debate or anything, but I think that you're missing the point when Christians (or any other religion for that matter) pray and thank for what they have. It's kind of a "it could be worse" thing... maybe things aren't running too smoothly but they are thankful for what they do have.

Even if they are living on the streets in a city, there are still things that you can be thankful for (if someone gives you a small amount of change or you have a blanket to keep you fairly warm). This applies to people who are agnostic or atheist too.

Otto, I didn't mean to bring religion into it either. In fact, I have no problem with any religion (they all preach things that would be VERY beneficial for society if people followed them). My problem is the people who are highly religious. Basically, like everything else, I just hate people. No one is as smart and awesome as I am.

I thought Gheyler was gonna start yelling at us for our topic choice. Talk about emasculating - being moderated by him.

Not me. I think the world would be a better place if religion did not exist and we could have good for good's sake be the basis for morality rather than fear of being sent to hell by the flying spaghetti monster.

What about those of us that don't like being good (for any reason)? I'd just rather be an a**. My moral compass is fubar.

Side note, I was wondering this yesterday, but is that the appropriate usage of fubar? Cause fubared sounds better there (like more grammatically correct). However, the f would be ****ed, which means if you expand the acronym fubar is the correct choice. Anyone?

Adam, I don't believe in fubar and feel the world would be a better place without it.

I do believe that "FUBAR" was indeed coined in the movie Tango & Cash. However, I've always thought that SNAFU was just as useful, has the same meaning, but is at a generational disadvantage.

I went to the school's therapist once. He was terrible. He basically blamed the difficulties that I was having on me. I didn't go back and eventually fixed the problems myself.
yeah that's what they do make you feel like $hit, thats why i never went back to them.

Hey Chad, now that I think about it, I think your post in the welfare thread might be lost on some of the audience. If people can't type things out at the level a third-grader might understand, your post was way over their heads. You know what might make this country better? Having to achieve a certain level on an IQ test to vote.

^ LOL @ Adam's comment :yesnod:

I was going to respond to that guy with "I take it you've been to What. Thanks for answering that question for me." But he prolly wouldn't have gotten that one either.

Bwahaha. I also get peeved at "America". This is the US, not America. America, IMO, refers to a pair of continents. No wonder the rest of the world hates us. So freaking self-centered...
