I'm thinking about buying one Monday. I'd like to know a couple of things. I'm sure I can ask the dealer, I'm not comfortable with their level of knowledge about the technical aspects of the vehicle:

Does it have remote engine start? It says remote windows? Is that right? What is that exactly? What type of iPod connector does it have? Will it work with a nano, or only full ipod? How well does the compact flash card work? What are the aux audio-video jacks for?Has anyone gotten one with chrome wheels from the factory? The guy eluded to the fact that is was possible to get one, but not likely. How well does the bluetooth work? I saw youtube video that indicated some sort of bluetooth ipod connection.

Any other comments or things I might want to consider would be appreciated.

1. The Murano does NOT have remote start.

2. The remote window is a pretty cool feature. You hold down the unlock button on your key fob, and it brings the windows down. You hold the lock button, and it brings the windows up.

3. Good question, I am not sure if the Nano works or not. I know it (LE ONLY) has the full Ipod Interface that will not only play music through the Murano stereo, but also display track and artist information as well.

4. The compact flash card slot is AWESOME! I have that sweet feature on my '08 Armada. You can whip through the songs so quickly by spinning the little while on your dash. It shows all the artist and track info on your screen. It is another sweet feature. Make sure you don't get a card larger than 2GB. I understand that if you get a card larger than that, songs will get "lost" on the card, and the stereo can't find them. I bought my card on ebay for $29.95 with shipping.

5. Again, you can hook up an MP3 player, Ipod, a portable DVD player, a PS2 or PS3 or any gaming system for that matter. Keep in mind that you can only view video on the Nav screen if the vehicle is parked with the E-brake on.

6. I believe you can get chrome versions of the 20" rims, I think you need to special order them at this point, or have someone chrome them out for you aftermarket.

7. The bluetooth works awesome! You actually set up the voice activation using your own voice. So it really never screws up. It is amazing how flawlessly works. Your cell phone will be nicely paired with the screen on the Murano. You can beam all of your contacts to the Murano using the bluetooth.

Last but not least, welcome to NICOclub!!!! I am the moderator for this forum and the Armada/QX56 forum. I would love to help you out in any way I can. I will be ordering an '09 Murano in a few weeks for August delivery. I am also getting an LE with all the goodies. If you do get it, please let us know and post some pictures it in the photo thread I started. Here is a link to a mini comparison I did with the '09 Murano and the Acura MDX.

It uses the standard IPOD dock on the bottom of your nano. You might need a firmware upgrade, but otherwise should work.

The compact flash reader I believe can only read the first 512 files on a card.

What did you mean by this in your review?

Not only is keyless ignition available, but a push button start can be paired with it, now that is sweet!

Actually the Compact Flash Card reader will read up to 2GB. Anything larger and the files get "lost".

Keyless ignition is available by means of the "Intelli-Key". In my Armada I have a keyless ignition, however there is still a "knob" for lack of a better word that you turn like you are turning a key, but you don't have to stick a key in. The LE Murano takes it a step further and instead of turning a "knob" you depress the brake and press the button to fire up the amazing 3.5 beast.

Let us know how the purchase goes!

It has nothing to do with the size of the CF card on the Murano at least. Per the manual

Max # of files on CDs or CF

With Nav 255 files per folder.. 512 per piece of media.

Without Nav 255 files per folder.. 999 files/folders per piece of media.

Its on page 4-37 or page 201 if you are using the PDF of the manual to read.

It ignores anything over these limits. (Just so happens 2GB is about 500 songs)

I got the appraisals on my trades done (2 cars), but they can't find one I want (LE, fully loaded, Black on Black, or Black leather on Platinum Graphite.) I might have to wait for a shipment.

Probably would be well worth the wait, I will be ordering mine in the next month or so for an August delivery.

Excellent explanation, straight from the manual! Thank you!

No problem. Its actually a shame they didn't allow for more files. It would be great to throw a 32 or more gig in the CF slot.

What do you mean? Do you mean I can special order one the way I want it? How do I do that? I want one with literally everything and I want Black on Black. I found a Black on Black LE AWD in OK, but nothing closer. Even that one doesn't have everything I want (crossbars, illum sills, tow package.)

Yes you can special order one the way you want it. Some dealers will sell it to you at invoice price when you do this (since they get to keep all the holdback), and some will act like they are doing you a favor. Just go in and tell them you'd like to order one the way you want it.

Well, the dealer got me concerned when we talked about even having to wait for their next shipment (60 days+ out), about my trades and their values. I assume that's unfounded, but to be honest, they gave me what I wanted for them and I'd hate to lose that opportunity. What do you think?

Yeah, if you are going to have to wait anyway, just tell them you would rather place an order for EXACTLY what you want. I am ordering an LE, Tinted Bronze, Beige Interior, Nav, Dual Roof, Illuminated Sills, Mats, and Cargo Protector. I had one dealer quote me Invoice, but I have one other local dealer that is checking into beating that price for me. Like I said, they told me if I order in May, it will be in sometime in early August at the latest.

I visited or checked the inventory at about 20 dealers in the Boston metroplex when I was in search of my LE in Feb. I didn't want Black or Platinum but that was pretty much the stock in this area -- I only saw one bronze (Sahara), two Red, three Blue, a few white. Lots and lots of Black, Silver and Platinum.

Try going to

http://www.config.nissanusa.com

and look at what dealers have in stock. Search on Norwood MA with a 100 mile radius and you will find a lot of black on black (Clay has 4 or more). Southwest into PVD or MHT, and by the time you get home it will be broken in....

Just for fun, I did check (FYI, the config) site isn't working, but I used the search dealer part of the nissan site. There are a lot of black LE's in your area, but none so far that I've seen with the Nav package.

Continue to check dealers close to you or ones that you would be willing to go to if the deal was right, you may be surprised by what you will find. I drove from Green Bay to Minneapolis to purchase my '08 Armada, and I drove over 6 hours from Green Bay to Grand Rapids, MI to purchase my '04 QX56.

That is the website you build your car on.

And I was dying to find a black on black, can't find em down here in NJ
