ok well i finally took the motorcycle safety rider course last weekend. man was it a blast! so the day the course is over i come home and my dad lets me hop on his fz1 to ride around the area on to get a feel for it. it was sooooooo much fun riding. so hes been letting me ride it throughout the week and what not while im having a blast on this beast of a bike. today is a really nice day out and i asked if i could take it to school and he said sure. so finally the time comes to leave school. just since its nice out i ride around for the fun of it. why not? bad idea. i know of some really nice curvey roads so i headed that way. i started carving these S curves at a nice pace at first. then towards the end of them i picked the pace up a lil bit because i knew the bike would be able to handle them. welp, on the last of the curves i approached a decreasing radius turn and stayed on it. i ended up carrying too much speed through the turn and just ran out of road. i went off to the shoulder of the road which was sugar sand and high sided. thankfully i was wearing my dads kevlar reinforced leather jacket which saved my ***, literally. my helmet is all scraped on the side now too. i just have quite a few nasty bruises and some scrapes but nothing more. and well... the bike.. lets just say some parts are gonna need to be replaced. good thing im a body man and know how to fix most of it but some damage is unrepairable. after catching my breath i realized how ****ed i am. so i call AAA cause my dad is at work. they flat bedded it to the house and its now leaning againt the carport wall. im all showered up now and waiting for my dad to get home. i dont think he has insurance on it either. so im pretty much SOL till i get some money so i can fix it. yeah, i had a reaaaal ****ty day.

damn that really sucks. i kno that feeling too cuz i spun my car out onto the shoulder before i had my liscense and thought i Fed up my car real bad. fortunatley there was only scratches and a lotta mud/dirt. but when i was sitting in the car right after it happened i felt like shooting myself for pushing the car like that without even a liscense.

You don't think he'd mention this thread, do you?

Anyway, glad to hear you're OK. Nothing wrong with starting out slow. Hope your father takes this well.

That's brutal bro. There are few things worse than blowing it after your parents trust you with a big responsibility.

I just read the "other" thread all the way through. The school of hard knocks has very loose admission standards. j-z, I expect your father will have a very large amount of joy that you are alright, and a comparable amount of pissed. My first bike was a 1984 Honda Nighthawk S, 700cc's. That was an awesome 1st bike. It was no crotchrocket, but it had enough power so I didn't get bored within a month. And it was so old that it didn't matter much those few times I laid it down. I rode it for a year before buying my first big boy (GSXR-1100W) and I am damn glad I did, even though I ended up in an accident on that one. Doesn't matter how good you are; you can't compensate for idiots every single time.If you want to keep riding, read the other thread through again. I agree 100% with the advice given in there. j-spec is right on the money.

We were trying to convince you that a 250cc ninja was plenty for a beginner... but now after seeing you in action I doubt you could handle that! This is the perfect starter bike for you...

This is a good starter bike. The Eliminator 125, 12 ponies of fury!

It was a stupid move on your part to ride such a beast after having no experience and it was also stupid for your dad to let you borrow it… Hope you learned a valuable lesson…

I'm glad you're not seriously banged up. Maybe your dad will fix that.

I hope you learned a lesson here. A bike is not a toy, contrary to popular opinion. Hopefully, your father will insist you stick to something you can control, like homework and taking the bus. Squid

Umm, not funny. Something I would expect from a 12 year old maybe...

Weather this is a joke or you're upset we didnt show any sympathy, my opinions havent changed. You're either immature for riding your dads bike and crashing it or immature for making this post.

Um... joking about something like that is NOT REMOTELY FUNNY. When and let me repeat WHEN you crash your dads or your bike, we wont have any sympathy for your sorry ***...

I hope you realize April Fool's is April 1st, not April 2nd. I also suggest you not quit your day job as you'll go broke as a comedian.

thank you jester. if i would have done it april first i think some of you would have caught on. so i saved it for the day later. its not like i said my leg got amputated or some ****. i have no job and being a comedian certainly isnt on the top of my list either. if you cant take a joke then thats your problem. i laughed my *** off and thats all that matters.

Um okay, I'm glad you found it hilarious as I don't think many other NICOites saw any humor with it. It also doesn't surprise me that you can't recognize sarcasm when it hits you on the head. But good luck in your job search.

wow, you sure fooled us... by the way, what you did would not be considered a joke because it was not meant to incite laughter. All it was is a lie. I agree with J-Spec and the gang on this one. This was not funny. I wouldn't even say it's immature though, it's just plain stupid.

well, see, your one of the ones that dont get it. the joke wasnt meant to be made towards you. it was meant to incite laughter on my part. isnt that what every april fools joke is about. yanking someone elses chain, right? well after the other bike thread i knew that some would have loved to hear this. then once theyre satisfied i turned that **** right around in the other direction. thats the funny part, haha <---(sarcastic). if you cant take a joke of me ****ing with you then thats your problem like i said. arent most/all april fools jokes a lie?

The funny thing is that it looks like you didn't read *anything* on the website that J-Spec linked to. He was only trying to help.

The nice folks here at NICO were just trying to keep you from smearing yourself all over the highway, so instead of at least considering the advice that was offered or letting the matter drop, you posted this stupid thread.

YAY! im special, YAY! actually, im one of the more intelligent and skilled members here. i know they were just trying to help by giving me that site. how does anyone know i havent looked at it? listen, this wasnt posted to intentionally start any flame wars or hurt anybodys feelings, and which it looks like happened to the majority of you that replied with more than one word (yeah, that was real intelligent). it was nothing more than a god damn april fools joke. ****, i even gave my 56 year old dad a laugh.
