Enjoy. Pics are at a meet we had the other day here in Nashville, TN. For those interested wheel specs are 19x9.5 +15 all the way around with (at the time) 225/35/19 front at 245/35/19 rear Falken Azenixs st115 rubber.

Wow. As much as I'm against Y33's, I must say that yours is magnificent. I'd even own one, if it looked like that. Wow. I'm pressed. I love the wheels.

Whats up with the mini-bar in passenger-side? Coke vs Pepsi test at the meet?

A staple of the VIP style. I've seen some from Japan with fold out tables in the rear. Serious window curtains and things too.

Reminds me of the custom chevy vans of the 70`s..... I would hate to be sitting in the passenger seat during an accident and have that monstroscity impaled in my oversize gut!

Dont understand the tassle fettish either, looks like part of grannys living room drapes!

I forget the reason for the tassle, but it does have a large amount of significance in the Japanese culture.

thanks for the compliments....It is my meager and not quite finished attempt at VIP. I do also have curtains. The car is also lowered on prototype coilover suspension for the Y33.....still working out the kinks.... the back can go much lower but the front doesn't have any lower adjustment (major kink since i'd like to drop it another inch). But I'll get it ironed out soon.

As far as the tassle, it's not the genuine article...my eagle scout friend tied it for me. something a little classy but definitely not the Junction Produce fusa knots that you see on most VIP cars.

Here are some more pics of the car with the wheels I used to have on it.

Look nice, but me personally, I've never been a fan of the VIP sytles of cars. The curtains, tassles, and the mini-bar...I can be without. The wheels and black paint looks nice though. Have you tought about painting the back, sides, and front rocker panels? I've painted mine black also. I got tired of my car being clean and constantly looking at those dull panels. The 99-01 y33 fixed that problem.

The curtains and tassles are sweet.

I guess its a generation/age difference. I feel that VIP isn't for the old school crowd, but is a much more mature style than the Day-Glo ricer style.

Haitian, man you and I probably are around the same age. I'm young, just graduated from college a year ago, but I still don't like that sytle. The ONLY mod that I plan to do to my Y33 is drop it about 1.5".

Wow. Really? I graduate next year.

I guess it's a personal preference thing then.

well i graduated from college 11 years ago....and personally i don't think its an age thing. Its a life priorities, and responsibilities changing thing. I needed a four door to transport my wife and kids (two boys) but i still wanted something cool and different.

My SC300 and 240SX prior to that were both too hardcore to roll in on a daily basis. With the Q, I get even more looks than either of those cars ever got me....Male Female.....Old people Young People... Black White Hispanic Asian....everybody is intrigued by the car. They may want to roll it themselves but they all are intrigued. That is cool in my book.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I love the exterior of the car, I'm not a fan of of the curtains and all of the bell & whistles. My Y33 is black, black tint and I have 20" chrome wheels on it. That's why I wan't mine dropped just a tad bit to kill some fender well space. See, a lot of people on here don't like chrome wheels so it is just personal preference.

Tassles as visual obstructions occur immediately before crystals as driver blinding devices when the sun catches them just right.

Just hope you are not in the oncoming lane.

Nice looking cars! I like the idea of a passenger seat picnic tray. Is the cupholder part removable for placing food, notepads, pdas, etc?

I'm not normally a fan of "VIP," especially for the choice of wheels and suspension. Your attempt is as far as I would ever go. I really like your car as it is.

Plus the black leather interior with that wood trim and passenger tray is really eye catching.

With a less stretched front tire, the front will appear lower, visually, without having to actually go lower. With all that clearance, there really is no need for that much stretch.

So matte black tassles made of yarn catch sunlight? Maybe in Bizzaro World.

Anyways, the car is sweet. I dig the dash "bar" but I think it promotes consumptiong of beverages in the Q. That's what I told some chick who asked about a place to store her drink. I was like "No cupholders means Don't drink in my car!"

The wheels are hot. You make me want a Y33. Honestly. I wouldn't mind getting one that looked like that. Riding around with the windows down and curtains framing the window looks cool.

Good job on the car man. How long did it take to get it like that? Was it expensive?

You know what? You're right. I'm beginning to appreciate the Y33. I saw the sexiest Hunter Green Y33 on eBay. Florida car, absolutely GORGEOUS. After I run through a couple of G50's I think I'll pick myself up a Y33. I'd love to have a pair of Q's. A VIP President and a VIP Cima. What do you think?

Baller all day.

I was going to ask if that thing rings the buttler in the back seat to have some Grey Poupon sent up?

That's one clean Q. I'd post pics of mine but it hasn't been that clean in a while. As for the Y33 vs G50 debate, I think each of us prefer the 1st Q we fell for best.

Perhaps. I'd find it hard to spread Grey Poupon on my bread while driving though. I don't think I could be chauffeured in a Q. Too much fun to drive. I was uncomfortable in the passenger seat while my dad drove my Q once when he didn't believe me about the transmission.

Thanks again for the compliments. As for how long its taken me to get to this point....I picked up the car in March of this year. My company is making the leap into the luxury/VIP market and I wanted the best platform to pull it off. So I bought a Y33. It a black on black 98 obviously... (I prefer the early Y33 over the late Y33 especially for purposes of VIP style)

It was in pretty good condition when I picked it up but I've definitely done a lot of work in getting it to look this way outside of stance and wheels and what you all the "minibar". It took the first 3 weeks to soften up the leather to the point that I didn't feel like the seats would crack from sitting on them.

I've also basically resurrected the paint since I got it but I'm coming to the realization that it will need a respray in the near future. My most recent mod just got finished yesterday hopefully installed this evening. I yanked off the side skirts and door caps and color matched them thus ridding myself of the hideous faded ABS plastic stuff. I also blacked out the grill center to clean up the front a bit. I've switched all of the interior lighting to LEDs. Of course the curtains, and I'm just about done with modding the side skirts for installation of puddle lights.

I've got a full suspension coming for it as we speak. It'll feature full tap coilovers with height adjustment and double adjustable (bound and rebound) dampening. adjustable tubular lower control arms adjustable tension rods. Rear upper control arms and toe arms. I'm about to fall over I'm so excited. I should be able to finally get the perfect stance, with a decent ride.

One final not to all of the G50 guys. I love the G50 my dad bought one brand new in 1990. I've driven it and others. Wish I could get a president to do all of the stuff that I've listed above to. But hands down the Y33 is one of the ultimate platforms for VIP. I'd even rank it above the G50 from that perpective unless you're talking about a president. Hence my choice....However, there's probably a VIPstyled G50 in my future. I just think it would be amazing to do an president conversion on one. Now for more pics.

Some Y33s and a G50 for good measure.
