I TOTALLY agree!owinbush wrote:One final note to all of the G50 guys. I love the G50 - my dad bought one brand new in 1990. I've driven it and others. Wish I could get a president to do all of the stuff that I've listed above to. But hands down the Y33 is one of the ultimate platforms for VIP
I'm in the process of doing the same thing also. Well, I've changed all of my interior lights EXCECPT for the two map lights in the front. I can't find the bulb that fits? Which bulb did you use for the front map lights? Right now, the front half of my car is yellow while the back is bright whiteowinbush wrote:I've also basically resurrected the paint since I got it but I'm coming to the realization that it will need a respray in the near future. My most recent mod just got finished yesterday hopefully installed this evening. I yanked off the side skirts and door caps and color matched them thus ridding myself of the hideous faded ABS plastic stuff. I also blacked out the grill center to clean up the front a bit. I've switched all of the interior lighting to LEDs. Of course the curtains, and I'm just about done with modding the side skirts for installation of puddle lights.
I've got my company's coilovers on their right now. We are in the last stages of prototyping what I'll call a s14 conversion for the Q45. It'll use S14 spindles with coilover shocks valved specifically for the Q45. Keep in mind when you do the s13 conversion that the Q weighs 1000lbs more so valving is important if you want a quality and compliant ride. We've spent a lot of time testing and tweaking to make this setup good for the Q.burgy240 wrote:Owinbush-- So what coilover set up are you going to be running now? Did you ever get the fronts figured out on the old setup? Also, what are you doing with the old setup? I think I'm going to do s13 coilovers all around on my y33 but I figured I would hit you up about your set up.
Great work so far. Keep it up.
thanks for the props.Haitian_King wrote:Hey CakeDaddy. That M45 is bad as hell. Wow.
This guy around the block has a white one, but it looks right piss compared to yours. I love it. Nice car man.
I want to have a threesome with these two sexy bishez.owinbush wrote:
Or, why not just make coilovers for the Y33 that doesn't omit any of its inherent features such as ABS, factory sway bar mount, etc? And that won't require swapping LCAs...This sounds like a convoluted solution, to a really simple problem... like undergoing open-heart surgery to fix a sprained wrist.owinbush wrote:

Also we will be offering tubular lower control arms that will make it possible to run the factory sway bars----another feature you'll lose if you just do S13/14 coilovers. I think it'll be a very good setup and option for the Q.
Whoops, I just realized that I probably wasn't clear here... it's more worthwhile making coilovers using the factory spindles that bolt in place, do not require additional R&Ring of any other parts, retains all factory ancillaries (such as ABS), allows easy swapping over of all brake components and lines, etc. And if you're making full tap coilovers, that makes it even easier, as all you'd have to do is weld threaded bodies to the spindles. It's not too hard to use even internet resources to build a cache of 8-10 sets of cores from yards across the country, and then offer customers an option of doing a core exchange, or paying a core charge. A couple of years ago when we were experimenting and learning with these cars, it would make sense for us to swap over to S14 susp components on a Y33 because there were limited options even from Japan, but nowadays, with the Y33 rising in popularity even over there, and so many good companies offering better parts everyday, there's almost no more reason to go this route imo...one ton garage wrote:
