So How exactly did you get the th400 to bolt up n work? Did you buy the Kit with the plate and flywheel?

Could you not of put a lockup converter as a 4th gear and been alot happier on the street? Also did you ever get to make a pass with it installed?

I have been wanting to switch to a Auto with a transbrake for a long time, Just never had the funds to complete it.

Also did it seem to pull any harder?

I worked with BDE to develop the kit, they hadnt done an RB kit before. We cut the ring gear off an RB20 auto flywheel and welded it to a 'flywheel' we had measured. The bell housing is just a modified rb20 auto housing, and then bolted to a TH400 via cnc adapter plate. As of right now, no lockup converters are offered....

I made some passes with it but the converter was too loose, I could never get it up on the converter so it was always lazy out of the hole, I think 1.7 60ft was the best I ever got out of it....

It actually pulled way less, that converter zapped so much power out of the car it was crazy.......the instant I had the 5spd back in there I was like OMG the car has balls again!

hmm thats interesting. Do you think if it was up on the converter it would have pulled alot harder?

I would think a tranbrake would work better in our application vs a high stall converter. I just don't think our cars make the torque to carry the load.

If it was fully up on the converter, sure it would have left alot harder because its transfering 100% of the power

Regarding the staill, you have to have it high with a big turbo.....if you're stall was 3k, you have no power down there.....and so its pointless to set the converter up like that
