No ruca's or adjustable arms will be neccesary. You will need an alignment, and that is all. I do suggest investing in some front pillowball mounts to run more front camber, and adjust the eccentrics in the rear to provide more camber than stock.gepeto wrote:I have just received my Koni Yellow shocks, and I am looking forward to getting some RS*R Race springs soon..
They drop 1.4inch in the drop, and 1inch in the back...
My question is, why that kind of drop, will I need to invest on RUCAs to make rear camber less aggressive ?
Or will 1 inch be a small difference on the geometry and will not affect camber too much?
Camber plates are not that expensive. I don't have a link for you, but I am sure somebody can post one up for you. Considering that your car is stock, you are probably only running 1 degree of camber or less. You can run twice this with no tire wear problems. Bad toe settings is what kills tires. At any rate, pillowball mounts will allow you to change your camber easily and quickly. When I go up to track days for drifting, I run as much camber up front as possible with my pillowballls(Around 4 degrees I think). Afterwards, I put them back to like 2 degrees to drive home. It takes about 5 minutes to adjust them.gepeto wrote:Well I still don't have the springs but thanks, I won't settle for less
What do you recommend for front pillowballs? Is it expensive?
I do not want to run MORE camber as I drive it daily in the summer..well unless I get tires that I can interchange between left and right I guess..
werd. If those worked, it would be even cooler, because you could use it to fine tune height settings up front.nismofly wrote:as far as i know most camber plates will work with shocks and spring packages
those are fairly universal too
id say give them a call, let them know what you have, and see what they say
those ground control sleeves are good?? i have themin my s13 (just bought it last summer), i have yet to check what shocks are in it, but i want to say agx..nismofly wrote:koni yellows with ground control sleeve overs id say would be better
but in terms of traditional spring/shock, this is the way to go
thats not the ground controls, thats the dampers youve got them on, and the way youve got them setPencilShavings wrote:those ground control sleeves are good?? i have themin my s13 (just bought it last summer), i have yet to check what shocks are in it, but i want to say agx..
anyway my car bounces around everywhere... and ontop of that over bumps where the tire falls away from the car, the spring usually comes off of the perch, and make a horrendous noise when it comes back together.
i think part of my bounciness is my tires though, crappy 195/60 15's. wheels and summer tires are first on my list this summer after i get out of school and get a job. so once i get tires will i notice a big difference and actually start to like my suspension?
another question i had was with real coilovers can the spring fall away from the perch or are they somehow mounted?
sorry for the threadjack
