there is a white one for sale on clinton hwy. its a 91-93 white hatchback but thats i know because havent ever stopped and looked at it

I actually took it for a drive and it is a 5 speed as that's all I would bother to look at. It’s got 125k if I remember correctly. the only thing wrong with it besides the stutter is that the sun roof is after market and looks like it doesn't have any support so the roof is flimsy.

No smoke out of the pipe, no rust, clean inside but it is missing the control switch for the mirrors. I think that’s' all.

no bondo either i went over most of the body with a big magnet.

if you can talk him down to like 1500 it would be worth it.

check out the white one first.

i think i am gona go try to look at it..I can get the mirror switch from a junkyard. Any ideas on how to reinforce the roof b/c of the Sunroof?? and I gotta know for sure what the studder is b4 I buy it.. unless someone can get me a real good deal on a motor

Ok, just got back from Chapman Hwy. I like it, it looks good..only a few little spots in the paint, the roof is dented like crazy. BTW, I think that may be the factory sunroof but im not sure. I am going to go talk to the guy monday b/c they where closed today (Sat) and try to get him to let me take it to a mech. to look at the motor and running gear. If all goes well I will try to talk him down on the price. The top of the dash is cracked to hell and the mirrors, windows, and locks are all manual. No radio and I dont know if the AC works...burnin240..did you check that?? Anything else I should know about it since you drove it? Hopefully I will have a new car next week. *crosses fingers*.. Thanks guys

Corrections: Sun roof is NOT factory you where right, it is aftermarket and wasnt supported right, 145k miles and I am takin it to get it checked out mon. hopefylly and If I rememer correctly I think that is the base model (no cruise, pw, pm, pdl) so that means no Open Dif. right??

A/C was pretty cold. But not freezing.

No LSD in there.All manual = less weight.

Keep us informed.

I would hope he fixed the stuttering problem by now. Or else you can mention that since there is work that needs to be done it should be lowered.

He told me he wouldn't lower the price because he took it in trade for taxes or something like that and that he has $1700 in the car and is not lowering the price. But remember it's been there for almost 6 months now I’m sure he wants his money back.

i went and checked the white one out today on clinton hwy. it is not worth it. it is a 92 auto hatch w/ 156XXX miles and they want 3495 for it. i also noticed that the left tailight was messed up it had tape over it but i didnt even bother looking at the body after i saw the price

Talked to him yesterday, I went back to look at it and he was outside talkin to someone..He said the studder was still there..he hasnt looked into it.. I am thinking plugs, wires, or injectors..hopefully...he also said the roof did not leak so that is a plus. My mom is taking it to the mechanic tomorrow and if it is in good shape I am going to offer him 1500 or 1650 cash including taxes and see if he will take it..because of the studder. I checked blue book and that car retail is like 3500 so..its not that big a deal..and I have 2500 total so I can fix what is wrong with it if it is minimal...Hopefully I will have an answer for you guys by tomorrow. It was at the mechanic..I am going back to Knox. from KY to drive it and if I like it I will buy it Wed. Problems: Brake Rotors need to be turned..NBD...they guy said the clutch was about to need replacing and there is a leak in the front crankshaft seal..=$800 where I took it to get it looked at...I have an uncle here in KY that owns a Nissan Dealership and I am going to get them to do it regardless..but I think I can get a "Family discount" from him.. So I think it is mine... I am pretty excited about finally having one..I have been tryin to get that '92 for about 2 months now!!..Thanks a lot for tellin me about that burnin...good man..may good things come to you!!!..lol....later

Hey guys, I got the 240...I love it.. I drove it back up here to KY with in like 3 hrs..it is hard to keep that damn thing under 100..even with the bad tire balance!! My dad has a '98 altima..(also with the KA24DE) and my little brother was goin crazy wantin to know if my '93 240 would beat it.. so when we where moving the cars around for the night he was following me around the block and I was just revving to about 5k and shifting..he was running that altima to 6k..it redlines at 6200..and I was still pullin on him...he was really surprised for some reason.. Anyway, so far I am happy with it..a few odd noises here and there...the heat shield for the exhaust is cracked and makes a bad rattling noise around 1500-2k but and something sounds like loose wires in the back qtr. panel when I turn..and I need new clutch...The only thing i dont like is the fact that it is base model...no se no fastback....it is a hatch though...i think they look so much better thatn the coupes.... I might put some pics up...not sure how and its not really much to look at right now...I am glad the search is finally over though.. I have been lookin for a 240 for like 6 months.. thanks again Burnin240sx...I think your the one who told me about it...i owe you..lol...peace, MAV

Hey Mav, congrats on getting the 240. I hope you can get all the little kinks worked out and have it running strong soon.

Not really noticed it actually.. I got on it earlier today and it seemed like it has a constant hesitation up to about 5200, then it is really strong up to about 6500..I am thinking when I go back home to knoxville I am going to change plugs, wires, oil, Antifreeze..just really anything that may need to be changed or anything that can be changed. It also has a loose heat shield on the bottom of the motor for the exhaust that is rattling really bad...I am gonna do something with that too.. But I hope to have it running really good in a month or less..

Oh, and if anyone is interested I am going to try to make it to Knoxville Dragway Thursday night.. Not positive but I will definately try to be there if anyone would like to meet up.. I will try to get some other ppl (one with '91 300zx and one with '92 240 se) to go..

There already is one. You should come to it. July 9th and 10th is the Southeast Region Mountain Run by High Tach Motorsports. We're all meeting up at the Days Inn on Merchants Drive in Knoxville probably around 9pm. Then chillin and doing whatever and leaving at 7am the next morning to go to Cherokee, North Carolina for the mountain run. There is a thread about it in the meets section that tells you all about it and what is going on etc.

If you *DO* plan on going to the meet please please post in the Southeast Mountain Run thread in the meets section. We need a head count of how many people are going etc. But here's some info here anyways but please go post in the other thread as well. Here's the address for the meet hotel in Knoxville.

Knoxville Days Inn - North5335 Central Ave PikeKnoxville, TN 37912

We are meeting up there about 10 pm Friday night and leaving at 7am sharp on Saturday morning. If you aren't ready and rolling out on time you'll be left bc there is a strict leave time in Cherokee due to police escorts and helocopters shooting aerial footage of the run.

As far as money, if you stay in the hotel Friday night it's right at $45 for the night and i'm sure you could split the room with 2 or 3 other people. Of course, gas money and food. When we stop after the first 2 hours of the run there is a huge park with over 100 grills. The people coming from Knox had decided to all chip in to buy stuff to grill so if you want to do that for food it would be really inexpensive.

Oh and strut bar couldn't hurt but make sure to bleed your brakes.

That's about it I think.

I *think* the cops are there to help all 100+ cars get onto the road without others between us and/or shutting down the road. I'm not entirely sure but I know there are police escorts according to the original thread regarding the run. Check out the link in my signature.....that's to the thread on NICO and in the first post of that thread made by EZCheese there is a link to SR20forums. Look at it and it will give you a better idea of what is going on for the run. It looks pretty bada55.
