I bought a 91 s13 with the ka24de, and it knocks pretty badly (metal shavings in oil) and i was wanting to know if it would be worth rebuilding and what parts to get. Budget is 3000

Unless there is a hole in the block, it can most likely be rebuilt.

The real question is, what do you plan to do with it, and what are your power goals?

not really looking for POWER, just fun....around 200, 215ish to the wheels, thought about the sr just because of the turbo, i like the way they sound, but i know rebuilding, turboing my ka and getting it tuned right will exceed my budget, so i figured id just go with the sr, but i am open to opinions

Well, first off, you will not achieve 200 whp on pump gas with an NA KA. Its just something that has not been done. There are people out there who have dumped a massive amount of time/money/energy into doing it, and so far, it just hasn't happened.

That being said, I think you could easily do a mild turbo build for under $3000, and meet/exceed your power goals reliably.

If you were to choose SR, I think you could get 200, but doing so with decent parts would likely run you more than $3000.

Correct. The actual PSI depends largly on what size turbo you decide to run, but I think you get the idea.

You would need some sort of tuning, but there are tons of options.

look around say on kijiji for cheap 240sx's for sale.

I bought a smashed one a while back with 106,000 on it. i put it in my car. costed me 250 bucks, and since turbos get pricey i would do this route if i were you. because parts for rebuilding get expensive $$$$$$$
