i just bought a 93 240sx convertible in very good condition for 2500. and at low speeds (like 5mph or fewer) it makes a knock sound when i brake, kinda like a tap. it only happens at low speeds. could i get some tips for things to check?

try to find out exactly where that sound is coming from. Engine bay? front suspension? rear suspension? how hard the sound?

its coming from the brakes, like there's play in the front suspension or something, its just like a tap like when you knock on a door.ill try to make a video of it soon.

Does it only happen once per braking application, or does it repeat as you hold the brake pedal?

You may have loose tension rod bolts, or a bad tension rod bushing.

once per braking application. i think you may be right about it being the tension rod.
