Knock sensor Issue; not covered in the any of the posts I have read

Before I break down and take to the Infiniti Dealer, can anyone please tell me where the knock sensor is located on my 98 I30. Also, is it a pain in the *** to replace. I was quoted about $400 from the dealer and about $150 from CarX. I am some what mechanically inclined, however, this engine is somewhat intimidating......as a novice of course.

is my knock sensor?

The knock sensor is located under the runners (long tubes) on the intake manifold.Here is a thread that discusses replacing the knock sensor that might be useful to you.zerothread?id=148066
