That is my rather small knife I use for backpacking and other small things such as opening CDs (GODDAMN PLASTIC CELLOPHANE ****!)

I want to pick up a larger knife though, as this one is quite small

What do you guys got?

That's clean-looking.

I don't carry a knife (since I typically wear dress slacks) but I do pack an ASP most of the time. :)

True, no locking, but it's for "just in case". Nice leatherman in the car.

Ooooooh, I get to post up my two current knives...I love knives :)

Here is the Camillus EDC that hangs out in my pocket as my "junk knife", I have the older one with the ATS34 blade (australian stainless if I remember correctly)

Here's my favorite knife, its a Kershaw Leek that my girlfriend gave me, I have to send it in soon to be fixed though :( I tried to "make it better" and ended up breaking a part of it:

Right now I'm looking for a really clean knife made out of D2 tool steel, it's a steel I haven't tried out yet and I really want one :)

I will have to find a digital camera. The Cold Steel are the Tanto and ShinobuThe Gerber is some folding knife pocket knifeThe EK is the Commando first modelThe Sypderco is another pocket knifeThe Chris Reeve is so old. I think it is the Sable. Its a damn fine knife. If you want a fixed knife, look at his selection. http://www.chrisreeve.com/

Honestly, I think Repoman was there for the purchase of all these knives. He has a bunch of them as well. I sold him one that I wouldnt mind buying back or trading.

Here's another knife I keep wanting, I just cant justify a 145 dollar knife :(

However, the 154CM is good steel, and benchmade knives are extremely good, and it's so pretty...:(

i used to carry a knife, but that whole concealed weapon and being a minor thing could get bad if i ever got hassled by a cop. now it's just a telescoping baton in the car if some idiot ever decides to get all road ragy on me...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with carrying a knife at any age, it is NOT a concealed weapon, it's a tool. Carry it Toki, just dont carry it to school. Or do, heck I always did.

Nathan, that thing is sweet!

Although I think I'd actually carry that first one you posted. What's that cost?

Greg, I snagged it for around 35 at the outlet store! I'd seen it for about 75 at my local knife shop but found it much cheaper and just couldn't pass the deal up :) It's made my Camillus and I would recommend going with something other than the ATS34 blade I have, it holds an edge for a long time...it just doesn't get as sharp as I would like (it's not my sharpening skills either...they are fine). I've had good luck with http://www.1sks.com before but I dont see them selling the Camillus CUDA EDC, I did find it here however: http://www.quickknife.com/cu2211.html If I could do it over again, thats probably the one I would have gotten :) It's a really nice design for a knife, with as much "belly" as the blade has, it's very sturdy. Thats why I call it my junk knife, I dont hesitate to give it hard use like I would my nice pretty Kershaw from the girl.

Here's my Dixie Heavyweight serrated-edge knife...

It can be flimsy at times when cutting through flesh, but can work wonders on a nice potato salad. Plus, you can get 1,000 of them for like, less than $50.

har har!

I have one of those 21st Century Ka-Bars, bad ***, I can't seem to get it dull, and I've cut through lots of rope and pvc pool hoses with it...

I currently have a Kershaw Vapor clipped in my pocket, made in China but still a good quality...

if you want a good folder I'd go with Benchmade, Cold Steel, Emerson, or perhaps Masters of Defense.

these are more defense oriented knives and can be rather pricey, but you get killer quality and build out of them, kinda like the Q

think best thing to do is look for good steel (440c is ok and cheap, AUS-8 is a mid range price and kicks ***, D2 is high grade tool steel, super hard and sharp but rather pricey, or you can get exotic and go demascus or ceramic)

a knife is way more legal to carry then a baton by the way, but it's more of a state rule, here you have to have documentation of proper training in impact weapons to carry a baton, I've been meaning to take a course but for the same reason I don't have a CCW, I'm lazy and broke:(

Agreed, my Kershaw is 440C and I love it, it gets pretty sharp, and it is easy to sharpen...but ultimately it looses an edge relatively easily. The ATS34 that my other knife is made of seems harder than 440C and holds an edge longer too...but it is harder to sharpen and doesn't get as sharp. This is why I really want a D2 bladed knife :)

Here's what I've carried for over 10 years now:

Actually, I'm on my 2nd. My 1st was lost in a motorcycle accident back in '97. It was just too good a knife to not replace.

i have a smith and wesson SWAT tactical and my personal defense favorite- the composite handle KA-BAR.

the only thing that sucks about the ka-bar is its illegality [blood groove] and its not really consealable
