Okay, I have been searching through these posts and archives like insane... I want to ask a couple of basic questions...

1. Is there an american made vehicle that came stock with an SR20det engine in it?

2. Is the SR20det an interferance engine?

3. If there is not a stock american made SR20det, and I still want to go to my local auto parts store and start buying every part about an SR20det brand new.. is it safe to buy parts for the basic of: 92-whatever sentras and/ or infinity g20 type sr's?

looking primarily for those made after 1996 to allow myself the pleasure of an OBD II diagnostic plug without having to retro the harness.

Then again... will a stock harness from the US work with a right side drive dash? or will I be forced to buy a JDM harness as well?

if so... what year did japan start putting in OBD II ports... assuming they have the same system as we do...

No american made SR20DET.

Interferance?

You probably can't buy every part but the basic's such as belts, filters, etc. Everything else can be bought from http://www.heavythrottle.com or http://www.phase2motortrend.com.

You'll need to buy a JDM harness (which comes with the clip) - even with the JDM harness you may still need to retro a OBD-II port, I just wired mine up to work with SRtalk.

Anything after 2nd half of 95 is OBD-II I believe.

Seeing as how the SR20det is a jdm motor I do not believe that any of them are OBDII. I believe there is info on this in the faq though.
