Definitely a cool product! Pretty impressive driving a nail with a glass tube. I bet you can probably beat the crap out of someone with one of those! I'm in for a GB!

No thanks-- don't want to spend $150+ for a cosmetic mod under the hood that does nothing for performance.

Maxentropy... wheels (unless lighter than stock) are just for looks as well.... Furthermore, its something that is 100% unique (ever see one on a car before?)

Hood dampers dont serve any purpose either then, but i bought those the day they rolled out...

GRYSTORM... did you take a look at their vids? hammering a nail with the glass? running it over with a f150? i think its safe!

Did you not see the video on the website. They literally hammered a 10d or a 12d nail into wood with the tube! Then they drove an F250 right over it and stop the truck when it was directly over the tire. Survivability?..I say it's pretty darn good!

And that's why I don't have any of those--- Just stating my interest (or lack thereof) like the thread topic suggests...

It looks good IMHO, but I can't bring myself to spend money on something like that. One can fight the wheels because it's an exterior enhancement that will be seen all the time. One can also fight and argue the cost benefits of new expensive wheels or this glass piping and whatnot etc etc but it's a worthless arguement--

It all comes down to do and get what you like. Again, no interest here, but upload pictures when you've got the install accomplished!

LBC - what is going on with your engine painting project?

I just ordered paint for mine - I will be matching my engine cover to the factory paint (desert platinum)- just leaving the infiniti and 3.5 emblems untouched.

According to their FAQ section...

"Provided borosilicate glass is not subjected to rapid change in temperature, creating undue thermal shock, it can be operated safely at temperatures up to 450°F (232°C). The normal limiting factor is actually the gasket material. The degree of thermal shock (usually defined as sudden chilling) which it can withstand depends on many factors, for example: stresses due to operating conditions; stresses imposed in supporting the equipment; the wall thickness of the glass, etc. It is therefore undesirable to give an overall figure but, as a general guide, sudden temperature changes of up to about 216°F (120°C) can be accommodated At sub-zero temperatures, the tensile strength of borosilicate glass tends to increase and equipment can be used with safety at cryogenic temperatures. "

Cryogenic temperatures Yeah I think it can handle our cold brutal winters. Not sure where you are but I don't think our temps go down that low.

Johnny, i think a nissan replacemrnt for the radiator hose would be more than $30... it is a fancy part, and it has a fancy price!

Hot but way too expensive. It would be last on my list & to be honest Idon't think I would ever be that bored to spend that much on it.

gonna have to read up on it.. apparently a "glance" at this tube can let you know whats goin on on "race day"

Also, i do agree its expensive, but its all in perspective... to a hyundai owner, a alti is expensive.. to a 2.5 owner, a 3.5 is expensive... and to me.. well everything is expensive lol.. thats why i try and work on price as much as i can... If they roll out a group buy we can see whats what...

I was thinking about throwing some leds in the engine compartment, but it would be low-budget if i didnt grab one of these things... in a land of nails... the screw is unique...

Make your car YOURS!

I may not be able to beat my friends jacked up ride... i may not have a fancy car-puter or the gas guzzling 3.5..... but i do have a ride that is truly unique...

It may be all for looks, but its coming along... crack my hood by summer time and ill have the painted engine cover, the fujita, the hood dampers, nismo caps, and a sick glowing radiator tube...

I don't open my hood enough to validate the buy. At least the dampers serve a purpose but this is only for looks. ill have to pass for now, but a blue one would be AWESOME

Well.. It can withstand cryogenic temperatures but think of this.. During winter its like - 20C (In canada) you start your car and give it 5 minutes to warm up, the pipes and water that runs through it is already heated to well above 50C. I dont think these pipes are good for a daily driver car..

there are 2 type of people that buy wheels:

1) for looks, no matter how heavy they are or tasteless they are

2) for performance, lighter rotation mass + greater width

both have an immediate impact. People will look at the wheel or the immediate relative performance gained from greater tire size.

not having to hold on to the hood and grab the stick once you get it open, kind of neat.

but back to the glass, I'd probably buy it because it is 20$ but anything more does nothing, not for looks or performance. Unless this is for a car that's not driven daily, there is no reason to get this junk.

No offense but this is this is the mod you do right after the stick on vents and the led windshield washer lights.

If you are really interested in the light - then you would be better off mounting a red led under the hood - somewhere - that you cant see the led directly - you just see the light shining out. That is kinda tacky too - but at least you didn't throw away a few hundred dollars.

I can see this being more for a show car - or at the least a car with a modified engine.

Good Luck with the Group Buy.

i dont want to burst everybody's buble but the hose on our car were made to be strong, not to look good...its not like an engine cover where you can get away with painting it....most of these hoses (especilay the ones near the radiator) have strings going in the rubber compound itself to strengthen it...i wouldnt trust this see through hose, i dont see the strings that are in the rubber to make it stronger...i can easily see somebody getting a crack in their hoses like this

Thats pretty wicked. Green works great because our antifreeze is already green (at least mine is), I guess it would be best to have the same color antifreeze as the lights... It'd be nicer if it were more complete though, as in being a bit longer so there isn't so much of the original hose in the back. I like it, but I'd be a little hesitant to purchase it; the "clamps" haven't convinced me.
