Well the other night some kids who probally just got their license rolled up on me an were like u wanna go? So i was like sure(it was one of those 2000ish mustangs that Ford shouldve never built.) We went I had him easy so I slowed down an I was like how much u wanna go for? He said he had no money, but I noticed he had a Black Light on his dash. So i said Ill race you for your neon(gotta clean up the local rice). So we raced for his neon, he raced us for 10 bucks. Sure enough I got more crap laying in my room now. An then tonite my friend was drivin an some camaro(V6 another car chevy shouldve never built) asked him if he wanted to run. So my friend asked how much an he said 5 bucks so they ran for 5 bucks, then after we had a few things off the dollar menu at McD's.

Import guys do the same stupid stuff. It's all about the driver. I guarantee just now somewhere in Siberia Olaf pulled up next to a 03' Gaz deisel turbo in his 78' two stroke Yak and got spanked. Jerks roll in every kind of car. I've owned German, American and Japanese, I'm on my way to being an international jerk.:)

LOL... damn, where in South Florida are you at? That sort of thing never worked for me, everyone was always too scared to race for money (or even material things for that matter). This was when I had my Integra GS-R... now I have a 97 240 (have no idea what it's capable of) so I haven't street raced since. Well, that and the fact that lately I've grown a paranoia over undercover cops (too many of them here).

NICE...my dream would be for someone to ask me if they wanted to race. i would tell them that there's a place i know of where it's safe and there's not much cars around. i would lead him to the canyons near my house and tell him who ever reaches the bottom first wins. that would be so funny. he would be like "uhh..i meant drag racing"...hahahahhahahahahhahaha. sorry i'm bored

anybody ever see that clip of a 2000 twin turbo'ed Camaro SS go out and slay imports? That's a domestic...

I feel the V6 pony cars (other than the '89 GTA, well, there was the creepy little SVO mustang too, it even had two less cylinders!) are worthless, well, unless you're a chick or ricer and wanna look fast instead of being fast (not that Mustang GT's are really fast:))

still good kills for a stock 240 though

that SVO in the right hands is a beast....there is alot of power to be had from that engine...and the suspension stock is the tits...right now its between an SVO and a 240 in my garage next.....

I gotta give the domestic guys around here (Raleigh) some credit. Mustangs and F-bodies are very popular here and there are some really fast ones too. Mostly all are GT's, Cobra's, SS's, WS6's. A buddy of mine at work has a blown Mustang pushing around $500 and runs in the 8-9 second 1/4. Be careful if you wanna run someone around here. Chances are it'll be a beefed car. Who likes the new Cobra's?? I think that a V-8 made to handle boost is bad ***. Guys are already running 8's and 9's on a stock bottom end. Kinda reminds me of another bad *** motor we all know of... the 2JZ. I dont know if it will be king for much longer.

Silent Drifter, I read your other post regarding quarter mile times, but you didn't post your time? LOL. So that's why now I ask: What do you run? (I already know your mods).

Tonight, I decided to stay out late like I used to. I was surprised to see how many people asked discreetly if I wanted to race, asking "Where are the races?" Funny part is, they were right where I was, and I already saw some of them race earlier (1st gen 300zx, mustang, and even my cousin's monte carlo SS that didn't know I was in this crowd when he showed up).

I eventually raced against some friends. One in a s13 coupe (custom exhaust) and another in a malibu ss. Both were dead even races. Looked like were taking turns pulling each other.

Fun night & thanks for the inspiration. I am new to this forum and now I have found hope for this car (for the meanwhile at least; until I save up for a SR20DET and a few extras). I can't wait till I also can "kill domestics" :D One day.

Umm I was runnin 15.5 stock, well with the exhaust disconnected after the cat. But with what I have now I should be lil bit faster. Still need to go to the track. Im lookin at probally 15.3 not sure. I mean when i went last time I was lookin for a 15.9 an hit a 15.5 so ya never know. When I go Ill post my time. Shane Bigler- I dont run stupid races, Im not gonna run a camaro SS, these are just crappy V6 domestics.

Some of the Domestic guys are just as annoying as the local ricers here.

But my car changed alot of attitudes after I whupped up on a bunch.

The funny thing is my friend owns a 2003 Mustang Cobra, and now that he changed a pully and exhaust, NO C5 vettes can keep up with him.

Except for a guy with a Z06 with headers and exhaust.

That car is FAST!!!!

I got friends cars I use...when mine's not fast enough. I dont usually lose, but my friend barry has got a LPE 383 kit in his firebird formula(1997, LT1 I think) with 500lb/ft and 480hp...

not much can hang with that. sometimes we go out together and if I lose, he runs them to get my stuff back :)-chet(ps: he runs a 11.6 1/4 spinning in first.)

nope, red with a small cowl hood, and some 17x10 ZR-1 knock-off wheels... 275-40-17 all around...

only give away(besides the really, really nasty sound) is the fact theres only one 5" exhaust tip from the left side...hehe, and the cowl hood.-chet

One of my friends has an early 90s Mustang convertible with about 625-650hp. He just did a 5 speed conversion. Man that ****cooks! The only problem is that he keeps ****in up the back end, but I think he fixed that problem although Im not really sure.

Hey Neverennuff to run mid 9's in the quarter all you need is an older 5.0 like late eighties early ninetys stroke it and supercharge it to the tune of 700 or so hp and you can run 9's just go look at some 5.0 mustang magazines. It's amazing what displacement and forced induction can do.

Oh yeah v6 mustangs can be fast. It's the gearing and weight that really slows them down. The v6 and gt both share a 3.08 rear end. Just by putting 3.73 or even 4.10 you gain alot of speed.

I raced a v6 one night thinking it was an easy kill, and i got my a$$ raped. Turns out he had i/e/h, 125 shot, chip, underdrive pulleys, and 3.73 he showed me a time slip from Ennis drag strip he was running low 13's with just a couple grand in mods. Mods for mustangs are cheap. Damn the extreme amount of mustnags built every year.
