Talking about russian engines:
Russian 900cc rotary engine pwns. KGB and government security had those installed in "special" russian Zhiguli (6 and 8-9 model) on a regular basis in 80-ies.
My friend's dad is a mechanic at MVD garage, he hooked him up with this engine. Installed in Lada 8-model (`2300lbs with passenger) this thing could kill any benz or bimmer, and people prefer them mostly V8 in russia.
I personaly was afraid to ride with this dude, but once witnessed myself him getting it to ~ 120km/h on 2nd gear.
That was an ultimate sleeper.
